Taking a peek
I just had the urge to take a peek at my old daily posts on this site. Two years ago, January 23, 2013, I weighed 158 pounds. Today, I weigh 158 pounds.

Automated....you are not crazy. You used an aversion therapy technique by squishing up the food. It is very effective to rid yourself of temptations. I have people giving me treats at work too. I always say thank you and tell them I am saving it to have after I eat my lunch or dinner. Yes, HD, Me too. In posting encouragement to others I feel kinder towards myself. I feel like this is a very important part of success: support and seeing yourself in others. We have so much in common and stages of learning have been mapped out beautifully by those who came before us. This is a powe...

It's not so much that I put rules on my S days, but that I am starting to feel and appreciate some food policies for myself. Generally speaking, stuffing myself feels bad, N days or S days, it makes no difference. I am not missing the feeling of stuffing myself during the week. What I miss during th...

I have recently gone from daily weighing to monthly because, I too can be rocked by a bad number. Maybe it's a post-WW thing. Anyway, I feel mentally healthier not weighing daily. If I was eating mindlessly or bingeing and avoiding the scale in denial, that would be another story. That is a recipe f...

Lily x, Three times, four times, twelve times....however long it takes! No looking back and no counting back necessary. You are different today. You are wiser today. When we know better, we do better. Welcome back to the sisterhood of sanity. Isn't it wonderful that this forum is always here waiting...

Thanks Tessy. It's nice to be going through this with support. You are a terrific cheerleader. I just bought Brian Wansink's book Mindless Eating . So far, it is quite interesting. I feel steady and strong. My weekend so far has been tame. No snacking, just some extra treats at dinner time. Maybe th...

Skeleton, Slowing down and breathing can help with the binge urge. When you have that plate in front of you, really look at, smell, enjoy the food. Slowly.....there is no rush. Bingeing, in my experience, is rushed and mindless. Stop yourself if the frantic feeling is there and just sit with it and ...

Jw, I automate breakfast and lunch during work weeks as well. I have two breakfasts to choose from, 1) egg sandwich and fruit or 2) cereal with trail mix. Lunch is a sandwich with a raw fruit or vegetable side. I agree with you. It makes everything easier: food shopping, prep the night before, less ...

Sinnie, I am back to work in a high school as well. I feel you....exactly! It is hard to describe the pace versus summer break when you first get back in September. It's not that my job is terrible, it is just that I get used to a peaceful inner pace and then it's back to multitasking, traffic, cook...

I have not had time for a check in. Back to work is hectic, but in a good way. I have kept to my NoS habits but notice that I am much hungrier at dinner time. My old friend, three-o'clock-munchies, has returned like a dragon. I have not given in. I used fruit juice one day and coffee today to hold m...

I had a tame weekend. The few treats and no snacking worked well. I am depressed because my weigh in on Sunday went poorly. Even though I know it was a little heavy from water weight, it is still not moving down and I don't want to diet anymore. What to do? I am back to work tomorrow and planning to...

Oolala, Size 8 is my dream size. Size 12 was my dream size when I was a size 16. Everything is relative. I felt okay when I got dressed in my size 10 white pants and left for the mall today. But then I saw my reflection in a store window and thought I looked middle aged and frumpy. It's ridiculous, ...
