Re: Jibaholic's Check-In

Went out on date night so had a big dinner (chips and guac as an appetizer and fish tacos)

Also had gum in the afternoon, so I haven't been great on the snacks and sweets to start. OTOH, I've been a lot worse too (3+ bowls of cereal, bingeing on the peanut M&M bowl at work etc.)

Re: Jibaholic's Check-In

So so day.

Breakfast was bagel with cream cheese
Lunch was a chicken breast sub with chips from Subway
Dinner was Chile at Wendy’s

I did have a snack of some leftover Halloween candy I saw. It wasn’t much but reinforces how easy it is to impulse snack.

Jibaholic's Check-In

I've tried a few things off and on, including No S, but I've never stuck to anything. If I'm going to stick to anything, it is this.

Mod: no snacking on the weekend. I can still have seconds and sweets.

Dangers:
-----------
  • Cereal at home
  • Jar of peanut M&M's at work

I've been registered for a long time but never succeeded. I've failed at enough diets that I know not to buy into the "this time it will work" feeling. Hiya No! Good luck with the elliptical! I'm assuming you started the thread because you aren't completely adverse to unsolicited advice. It may get boring if you do the same workout all the time. My advice is to mix it up. I'm sure the elliptical has programming for this, so that can be a goo...

Day 2 Friday: Success [/b]. Again a fuzzy "no seconds dinner" since my wife made pizza. They are each smallish size and she makes four of them, so we all tend to have one piece out of each pizza as they come out of the oven. But I'm still counting the day a success. I'm still amazed that I can walk...

Thanks everyone! Day 1 Thursday (a few days ago): Success [/b] I'm still a little fuzzy on "no seconds" at dinner time. My wife made Indian food and served the first portion in bowls. Since they were fairly small bowls I had a second portion. It may not be ideal, but I'm still counting the day a suc...

I read through the whole thread - pretty interesting stuff. I like Reinhard's No Solitary Snacking mod. It's interesting that many mods create a slippery slope towards getting off No-S. One of the things about creating habits is that they rely on "bright clear lines" between what is permitted and wh...

I'm just a newbie, but I think you have to look into your own heart to answer. If you're an iced coffee addict, it might be a sweet.

For myself, I have coffee without sugar on N days. But I know my sweet tooth makes me want the coffee with sugar. Coffee without sugar is more about the caffeine.

Hiya Emmay, thanks for the response. I was thinking about an alternative breakfast. The dietary defaults thread is pretty interesting. My only concern is that I don't want to get too far away from just doing vanilla No-S, at least for the first 21 days.

Jib's Daily Check-in

My Background I'm a 40 year old man. I was naturally lean as a youth (but never had that six-pack, grrr...) despite terrible eating habits. I was a snacker and basically lived on fast food in college and my twenties. But after marriage and kids, it caught up to me. I gained about 40 pounds. I lost ...
