EEEEeeeeek! So exciting about Doc getting a glucose monitor! :-) I can't wait to hear how that goes for him! It can really be a motivator for food choices as well as exercise. It sure has, Soprano! She is such a great dog. She has her quirks (she'll "decide" someone, usually a teenager or kid on a big wheel, is a serial killer and bark at them) but she also is so gentle (the gentlest mouth when she takes a treat! - everyone comments on that!), and she is funny! That's pretty cool that you get to be a bridesmaid, though! Although the whole fitting easily into the dress thing of course sucks.

Re: flyingpig checkin

We've been having to wear masks in our state for months and months - plus none of the kids get to go to school, probably for the rest of the year. I rip off my mask and hungrily breathe in fresh air every time I get outside. But lots of people wear masks even on walks and in their cars.

Tonight Flowerpup is commiserating with you - I just got her home from surgery - she got spayed today. She's miserable-looking.

Hey there - hope you start to feel better. And yes, keep putting one foot in front of another! I am convinced that I need to focus on what I can control and let go or accept what is out of my control, as a method to manage anxiety in these troubled times. Easier said than done.

I've also had trouble with not being on my routine and my usual time of daily walks. It's frustrating to feel that I know what I want to do, and what I should be doing, but I can't seem to find the motivation. Very blah feeling.

April, really good insights you are having and I appreciate you sharing them. And I understand about how, by controlling our food (when we can't really control much else going on around us) can be tempting. What's interesting is that my normal "Way of Eating" is more restrictive than many (just due ...

"S"-ing out - that should be a tried and true phrase on our threads. :-)
But I totally get that....the times I feel the most physically unwell correspond to the times that I feel the need to indulge more. I'm pretty sure it's a mood-lifting-seeking behavior for myself.

This was delightful! And so spot-on with discussion on our forum threads: we often complain of our "inner rebel" and our "inner perfectionist" - they sure sound a lot like Demogorgon and Asmodeus! Also your comment about how they feed off each other - we often notice that when our inner perfectionis...

Terribly, Pinkie! This experiment was a giant fail! My morning blood glucoses have never been so high! What ended up happening is that I had to wait to eat all morning, which made me ravenous. I know that my "coffee w/milk or cream or whatever" might not look like a ton in the morning, but it is def...

Hi Soprano - yes, I've studied and use apple cider vinegar, although not always consistently. It does lower my blood sugar by a few points - nothing super notable though so I tend to stop remembering to take it. On the other hand, I use it generously on my salads and I love it. Soprano, yes the change is happening but SOOOOOOO slowly. Molasses slow. Hi Soprano! This experiment is actually kind of growing on me. There's something about thinking to myself, "hmmm, I have plenty of energy for my body right now so I don't need to eat anything extra".
