I am inclined to say Friday was a SUCCESS but I would be interested in your input ... In the morning I gave blood. They always try to give you sugary things afterward, so I came prepared with a bottle of drinkable plain yogurt (no added sugar). I did agree to have a fourth of a multi-grain bagel wit...

Welcome, Margaret! I've been on since June 5 and things have worked out really well so far. I added a few twists of my own to the No-S rules because I had reformed my eating habits quite a bit already. I agree, there are a million and one different combinations of "special diets" that the hucksters ...

That's neat that you are a massage therapist, Deb! Massage is a wonderful thing ... so's yoga! I like yoga cause I have never been "athletic" or "good at sports" .... but when I took up yoga it quickly became apparent that I am "bendable." It meant a lot to this out-of-shape non-athlete felt when th...

Deb, that's really, really cool. Once when my friend (just a friend) gave me a really good hour-long massage, I was so blissed out near the end that I actually saw different colors. My eyes were closed, and the colors just appeared momentarily and then went away. It was like a vibrant pattern of cha...

My sympathies, Jetii ... it's very, very hard to eat right when you have to eat out all the time. Strategies: 1. I would focus on portion control. Most restaurant servings in the US are WAAAAAAAAYYYYYY too much food. 2. Fiber. I've been cutting way back on the total calories I eat, and the absolute ...

Hi Crasch! I live in Raleigh, also. What beach did you go to? Just think, yesterday may have been a technical failure from the No-S standpoint, but what you ate, when you consider the whole day, is very healthy compared to the "normal" modern way of eating. If you weren't doing No-S, one might even ...

Hi Elinor - Maybe it would help if you took a look at the precise functions involved in snacking. How did the pastry get in your house? What was the circumstance that made you break down? Trans-fats
I was reading about trans-fats lately and I realized that the No-S Diet is really good for avoiding these. Trans-fats, sometimes known as "partially hydrogenated" oils, are turning out to be incredibly bad for us. I won't go into all the details, but they are a huge problem. A number of nutrition re...
