I think if I'd had better luck at actually losing weight with this plan, I'd be doing better. But one day offplan just screws me. I know I give up too easily. The only thing that ever really worked for me, I can't afford to do any more. I just had higher hopes for this.

AFter last weekend, I really fell off the rails. Especially the last couple of days. I need to get back on track. It's not a bad way to eat, and it's not even difficult. I think I sabotage myself. But my knees and hip are starting to hurt again, and it's more difficult to get upstairs, so I'd best g...

Even though the weekends were S days, I kind of went overboard so gained a little. I haven't quite gotten quite to the point where I can do the same thing on weekends. I think portion control is my issue.

Progress, not perfection. Oh, and no, I'm not from the Phoenix area. Changed my name some years back. Had more to do with the mythical bird than a location. Rising from the ashes and all that.

I wish I could say the same. I still don't quite have a handle on the S days very well. I think I overdid this weekend. But I'm glad you're doing so well!

I know exactly what you mean! My dog perks up as soon as I put on my coat (it's winter, after all). He loves his walks, and it gets ME out the door as well. I confess too, that I do share with the boy. I know I shouldn't, but I'm careful about what I give him as he has chronic pancreatitis. He can't...

An "S" day. I've been looking forward to this all week. And this morning I got a "twofer" in my email. Buy one Starbucks breakfast sandwich and get another free. So I hied myself to Starbucks, bought the two sandwiches and a small latte. Had the latte and one of the sandwiches and will save the othe...

Yesterday was a "fail" day myself. I did well, even at my birthday lunch, but at writer's group someone brought cupcakes and I had one. That makes it a "fail," not an "s." But today will be a Normal day for me. No sense in waiting until Monday to start again. That's what I've always done, and you kn...

A friend took me out for a belated birthday lunch today and I did pretty well. ordered a bbq chicken sandwich. I ate half the sandwich and the filling from the other half and left the other bread. Had some french fries, but gave the rest to a tablemate. So, all in all, done well. Going to have a bit...

Gosh, I see I haven't posted in a few days. Sorry about that! I've pretty much remained on track. I went a little overboard on Sunday because it was my birthday, but for the most part, I find this tremendously easy. Also, I've had a cold that I'm just now getting over. A friend of mine is taking me ...

In America, cookies and biscuits are different. Oh gosh....trying to explain the difference...biscuits are shaped more like a cupcake without any frosting and is usually a savory item, usually enjoyed with butter or honey or jam. Sometimes they're made with cornmeal, but is generally served at dinne...

Distracting yourself when you just want to eat is one thing, but distracting yourself when you're truly hungry is another. That usually means I didn't at enough at the previous meal. But, it's all a process, right? Live and learn.

I know what you mean. Oftentimes, when all I want to do is dive headfirst into a vat of chocolate ice cream, I'll busy myself doing something else. I like to quilt, or even get out the coloring books, just SOMETHING to take my mind off eating.

Today is an S day. I had originally planned to stay home, but my across-the-way neighbor has guests, including little children, which means staying home and reading has lost a bit of its appeal. JW, my husband was from East Lansdowne, near Philly, and I've visited there on many an occasion. We went for the holidays once and he said, "ah yes, now I remember why I left!" He wasn't a fan of cold weather. I've found the area to be beautiful, but I'm not a fan of cold weather either!

JW, you must live back east or in the midwest. I've seen the weather reports and don't envy you one bit. I lived in Arkansas for a while and I don't miss the weather. I'm in California, but it still gets chilly here.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today is Thanksgiving, so it's an "s" day. Even so, I've done so well, I don't want to overdo it. I've still got this lousy cold, so won't be going to anyone's house. The family has babies, one is only about two weeks old, so I'm not taking the chance of getting them infected. And then there was the...

I know! I am fortunate indeed. I live in a senior apartment complex and we have: oranges, apples, tangerines, grapefruit, avocadoes, figs, pomegranates, peaches, and I think there's even a cherry tree. All free for the picking. Of course, some folks try and pick more than their fair share, and that'...

One week, lost 4 pounds

Well, I've been on the No S Diet for 1 week and I've lost 4 pounds. I'm pretty happy with that. I counted Friday as an S day, because we had our community T-day meal then, but I counted yesterday as a Normal day. I've also come down with a cold, (wouldn't ya know), so am missing church today. Unfort...

I think I'm going to have to count this as an "S" day. My community is having a Thanksgiving dinner today, so you know I'm gonna have a piece of pie. Also, I cooked a turkey breast, and I did nibble on some of that while I was slicing and dicing. So, might as well call it an "S" day. The holidays ar...

Today was just a weird day. First I found out that a friend of mine passed away yesterday. Then I had a doctor's appointment that required that I not eat beforehand because I needed to get lab work done. Turns out the lab work didn't happen until 2:00 in the afternoon. Then I had a meeting tonight, ...

Day 3 check in

So far, doing well. I've just had dinner. It's a little early because I know I'll go to bed hungry, and I hate that. I'm trying to wait a little longer for dinner each night until I can get to 7:00. I'm hoping that will make it easier. My difficult time is in the evening after dinner. I just want to...

Day 2, checking in

Today is Monday and I've managed to stick to the program without too much kicking and screaming. In fact, it was actually quite easy, which scares me a little. But, I'm off to a good start. I just wish I could get the HabitCal to work.

First timer

Lord knows I've tried everything else, and had some success, but somehow I always seem to fall off the wagon. I lost a lot of weight at one point, kept it off for a long time, but then the program I was on changed and down I went. Again. Fell off the wagon and under the wheels. So, I stumbled across...
