monday morning "scores on the doors"

my monday morning weigh in tells me I'm now at 94.5Kg. Thats 1.5 kg down on last monday morning! (94.5Kg is 208lb in 'transatlantic'). The reason I lost so much just highlights how necessary it is and how much spare blubber I'm carting around! Yay! Go me! Other news, I bought myself a little present...

another reason *not* to drink coke... The dark coloured fizzy drinks like coke and dr pepper have lots of phosphoric acid in them. your body will always try to create a balance of phosphorous and calcium in your blood stream. both minerals are needed to lay down heathy bones. Here's the point - your...

Still going. Yummy S days but not overdone it.

Yesterday's meal out was ay-mazing. We shared a starter of mixed Buschetta, rather than having one each. The restaurant was super nice about this and even divided them up onto 2 plates for us! Then for mains, I had a chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms, ham and panna-cota, served with a white wine...

The first 'S' day.

Thanks everyone! So far I didn't go too nuts. Last night I just had a couple of pieces of french loaf with some Pate on, and a load of grapes and strawberries. usually I'd have eaten half the baguette on my own, so that was a serious improvement. Oddly, I really didn't fancy eating any chocolate whi...

Oh goody! somebody else who is starting out. Reinhard is so right. You must have willpower in spades to stick out something as tedious as weight watchers for so long! Glad you could join us. I know it'll be OK. I too will fall off the horse a few times (in fact I already did last week and it was onl...

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd just like to add something here.

I'm facing up and taking responsibility.

I'M FAT BECAUSE I EAT TOO MUCH AND MOVE TOO LITTLE.

But now I'm learning about how to change that and keep it going FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and that is so exciting!!!

Hi guys! Thanks for your comments and encouragement. The Boy S and I made a decision to allow a small modification to the timing of S days. We've applied a 'Six O'Clock rule'. Saturday actually starts at 6pm on Friday evening and Sunday finishes at the same time too. That's most practical for us bec...

Despite everything

In no S terms, yesterday was a SUCCESS for me, and mostly a sucess for the boy S. He had an interview yesterday in Amsterdam. I'm so so so glad that it wasn't in London instead, (fortunately it was twice as expensive to get a train down there from Leeds than it was to fly to Amsterdam, so they rejec...

Thanks everyone.

Me and Mine are all fine and accounted for, although several people I know spent long and uncomfortable nights stuck in London on friend's sofas or in the office as they couldn't get back home.

It was a big shock. But we will pravail and they won't win by trying to blow us up.

thanks. I live about 400 miles too far north to be caught up in it personally, but a lot of my family live nearby and I do know about half a dozen people who have been affected in some small way. Fortunately all of my family and friends are accounted for, although a few of them will spend an uncomfo...

Hey! I bet I'd burn tons of energy off simply by never using internal mail.

Man, I'm *so* lazy!

Right. As from tomorrow, the internal mail system is BANNED from my desk.

Hiya! I look forward to when I can give blood again. Hopefully in about 6 months time I'll be back on the register. I had to stop doing it, cos it was making me ill with anaemia. After much messing around (iron tablets are horribly un-carole-friendly) my iron levels are now stable and much better. M...

My Avatar

I used a combination of reducing the picture size and cropping it. I admit it's not very easy. The original picture for this one was about 50 times bigger and my head was only about double that size already on the whole picture. The best advice I can give is start with a picture where you're nearly ...

I should point out that the original reason for going to the noodle bar was that they serve free green tea and as the guy who runs it knows us pretty well, he's happy just to serve us with the tea if we like. We quite often use the place as a convienient, pleasant, central meeting-up point. Just in ...

Day 1, Attempt B.

Oh Dear! Oh well. Dust myself down. Accept the FAILURE and keep going. You might have guessed I didn't do so well last night, although it was partly 'accidental' (Is there really such a thing as 'accidental' eating..? How could I even THINK this...?!!). There was a big traffic accident which meant t...

Thanks guys for all your helpful comments and support! Glad you like my photo, Deb. It was taken in the office when a workmate was messing around with her new digital camera. I'm allowing myself one piece of fruit to 'snack' on every day. At least for the first couple of weeks anyway. I find this is helping a lot. Afterall, I used to snack on fruit AND crisps AND chocolate every day. I figure leaving the fruit there isn't going to do me any harm in this case! I can alway...

There will be nice food again...

One of my mates recently came up with a comment which I find helpful when trying to resist that second helping. Eat your food. Taste your food. Think "mmm! Yummy nice food". Finish the food on your plate, enjoying every mouthful. Think "how full am I?" Think " I really don't need to eat any more rig...

Yeah. I like the checkins too. Reading through some of them almost made me laugh out loud (which is bad in an office full of people!)

It's very helpful to see all this, especially when this is only day 3 of my first ever attempt.

So far not bad. Only been doing this since Monday. Right now I really really want to eat a Twix bar... But not as much as I really really wanted to eat one this time yesterday. Ha. Being a rather odd child, I used to chew my wax crayons. I could never work out how my mum knew that until one day she pointed out my rainbow coloured teeth in the mirror!

Yeah, the gum has *got* to be better for me!

Hello! I'm a total newbie.

Just thought I ought to introduce myself. I started doing 'No S' on Monday this week, so I haven't even gotten to my first set of S days yet. So far I'm doing OK, but it was really really hard yesterday. I had to confront the fact that I'm a total sugar junkie as I got terrible cravings for somethin...

Testing. My first post on here.

Hi Everyone. I'm just testing that this works OK and I can see my Avatar too.

I just started doing the whole 'No S' thing on Monday this week. So far it's been hard, but I'm doing OK as I haven't broken the rules too badly yet.

:)
