Kathleen,

Maybe look at the wine as the factor for overeating. I know, for me, alcohol makes me overeat. I don't know if it's because alcohol raises the blood sugar, or whether it just lowers defenses. Probably some of both.

I agree with the Pyrex custard cups. I even have 2 sizes of those. Not only do they fill the need for small ice cream or dessert bowls, but I use them for mise en place when I cook. So, double duty!

My word for 2011 is CONSISTENCY. I don't have to be perfect, but I need to be consistent in my efforts.

I didn't have any real servings of vegetables, and only 1 fruit, but at least everything fit on one plate.

Starla, I think your idea is a great place for Kathleen to start. Maybe have 1 plate of food you really "want" (the higher calorie stuff) and for seconds just have a plateful of veggies/fruit. I really believe you would be full enough to last to the next meal and not feel deprived. Just my two cents...
