Thanks for the thoughts, Carol. Quality of the food is an important issue with me as well. My husband and I are great cooks and we plan awesome menus that work well for my diet (he doesn't need to). But like your husband, I work too many hours and am stressed a lot at work. When I come home, I am bu...

I am a hard core snacker. I am finding after several monthes of losing and gaining the same couple of pounds that I will have to limit my S days otherwise I graze so much that I gain on the weekend the pound I lost during the week. I have been on a plateau for ages. I think it is a personal decision...

Good idea. You can't eat what you don't have. That is one of my problems. We have too many options when we want to eat. This last week, we were on vacation for a couple of days and when we got home, we were out of many groceries and didn't want to get back in the car and go grocery shopping. I kept ...

Wonderful concept and motivator. In the book that Operababe recommended "Life is Hard, Food is Easy", the author has a method where you set a goal and ask yourself what do I do next to accomplish that goal. Like for instance if you say: I need exercise and I am too busy to get any. What do I do next...

Success 17-3, I guess. I wish I could get past the hunger thing a bit. It is definitely the elephant in the room that I am trying not to notice is there. When I did my first 21, I was amazed at not feeling hunger. Since then it has been a struggle most days. The honeymoon period is over. What I eat ...

Sorry things are rough right now but good for you that you are staying with the plan in spite of it. Those (and vacations) are the roughest times. It is so easy to cave in because we think we deserve it. The truth is we deserve to be good to ourselves. Victory is sweet. Why does he get to break the ...

Back from vacation and everybody's support and suggestions really helped. Thanks, guys. I gained some weight but it was less than I expected and I think it is mostly water gain because we ate out so much and my body is really salt sensitive. Salt is so hard to avoid when you eat out or at someone el...

You are doing awesome. Good way to handle the stress with the Ex. Walk it off. If you eat to get back at him, how will that help you or get back at him? I read once that the best revenge is a happy life. It makes them soooo crazy they can't reach you where it hurts anymore. Hang in there for your 21...

What a bit of tough luck!!! Many years ago the same thing happened to me. We moved and when the last box was moved in, I was sitting down on the couch, hit my foot on something and broke a couple of small bones in my foot. I couldn't unpack for several weeks. Very frustrating. For you it must be eve...

Tough choice. Maybe try taking a treat home on Friday. And not just a sample but a full size treat and save it for Saturday. If it is cookies, pick a couple. Then all during the week, savor the idea that you will have the treat and not just a sample if you just wait until Saturday. Frankly, I think ...

You are correct Stevia won't work in cooking but sucanat is a sugar by- product. I have tried it in baking. It is very dry and I don't think it would work too well for granola bars. To cut back on the sugar and still have glue, we have used some peanut butter from time to time but the bars are a lit...

I like that idea. I have been trying something similar myself. I mentally say things like, you are inanimate objects. The only power you have over me I ...

Hey, 36-9 that is on target 75% of the time. Awesome. Is it getting any easier? Sounds like your battle is with snacking just like mine. So far the new, wapped out plan is working. I will go with anything that gets me to my goal. Too new to share. Anyone reading this will think I've gone over the edge. When it has brought a 10 pound weight loss, I will consider it an official success. More later, maybe.

I agree. The less sugar the better Monday through Friday. I don't react as much to straight sugar as I do to starches. If I have a bagel for breakfast even a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter, I am starving within an hour. Pasta does the same thing. But I can have a small dollap of vanilla yogurt...

Sugar at a meal is tricky. Reinhard says sugar in your tea or on cereal is ok and not to overthink sugar too much. How does sugar effect your hunger levels? Some people it drives crazy hungry, others not so much. Probably doesn't wreck the diet plan. Just not too often. The less sugar Monday through...

Thanks for the responses. I agree with you regarding the starchy foods and I also agree with the protein staving off hunger better than starch. The question though was, if it is an N day and the crash comes for whatever reason, what do you do to make it to the next meal (presuming of course giving i...
