I realised the other day I have a couple of mods that I decided to just accept because they aren't excesses but normal everydayness for me. I don't find it the least tempting. It's usually just something in a plastic container someone picked up at the grocery store bakery. I do, however, find it...'sad' maybe? - to see how even though many schools are eliminating sweets at parties, the teachers 'reward' kids with candy on a daily basis.

Just for decoration. Vending machines fall into that category - lots of pretty colors, nothing there to eat. Reminds me of the first time we went to a grocery store after we moved to the US. I think that people who don't/have never dieted (but maintain a "healthy" weight) aren't perfect in how they eat. Their habits have been developed over a lifetime -- or longer. My favourite thing about NoS so far
I think my fav thing about NoS so far is being able to eat all I want. I don't mean 'allowed' - I truly mean 'able'. I have been IE for many, many years (after giving up the world of diets of all description) and I did well with it for quite some time. Using that I got over most of my disordered eat...

I didn't have the problem of being hungry all the time - it was the opposite. I was always too full so I started eating less and less so that I would actually get hungry. Now I'm so used to eating almost nothing. I've been thinking I actually eat too little, and when I plugged it all into fitday - I...

You're more right than you know, Janie. I'm coming from the 'eat when hungry, stop when full' thing - which worked for me beautifully for many years, but not so much lately. Not sure why, but it's time to try something else. Besides, I'm tired of having to eat all the time. So, I am very well 'train...

Milk sounds like just what I need :) I also think you're right about my not eating enough at lunch. At the time, I felt like I had enough food - but it just didn't last the afternoon. Maybe a later lunch would help, too, since I don't seem to have the same problem with hunger in the morning. Thanks ...

early days and hunger
What do you do when you're really hungry and it's hours until the next meal. I don't mean maybe hungry - or stomach growling a bit - I mean truly, feeling a bit ill hunger - in those early days of adjusting to the system?

That's exactly why I decided to do it. We are 'in' to traditional foods, traditional cooking methods and customs. This fits in with our basic philosophy - but with a more defined framework. What is really interesting is that my husband - who is a lifelong 'normal eater' and has never been overweight...

The Daily Dandelion
First day - and not exactly a success. Breakfast - Croissant with butter and tea with whole milk Lunch: Two slices of pepperoni pizza, iced tea (and this is where things fall apart a bit) a mini Nestle crunch bar that someone gave me - which, I might add, tasted so awful, next time I won't have a bi...

I think this is an interesting thread. I just started and one of things I have to work out is my 'emergency' food to keep at work. Most days I come home and cook a proper meal, but once in a while I get stuck there - and I never know when that will be. I don't eat stuff out of packages - and I don't...

I just learned about No S today. I don't know much yet - but enough to start with.
