Hi Valerie! I guess I'm your diet soulmate  When I started No S four weeks ago, I weighed 120.6 lb at 5'2.2" (BMI 21.9). So don't worry, there's someone who started No S with a BMI like yours. Healthwise, I am fine now and I was four weeks ago, but I felt like I could still lose some belly fat ...

I also want to know... I ate a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of milk, as I knew that oatmeal wasn't going to be very filling. It's okay to drink your milk/juice WITH your meal? I counted that as one meal. I think so  I mean, I don't put my milk on my plate when I eat dinner  And sometimes...

No S as it is described in the 14 words, without any modifications. "Plain ol' vanilla", you know. I think it would include the one-plate rule You didn't know about that either :P I think Reinhard should write a paragraph (= more than 14 words) to explain No S to newbies. Or we could do that! On th...

Day 21 and finally introducing myself
Hi :) I'm Katie, I'm 16, and I live in Germany. What's up? :D According to my BMI, I'm not overweight, but I gained over 10 pounds over the past year or so, and I'm now trying to lose this weight again. I spent the last school year in Florida as an exchange student, improved my English, and got to k...

I wonder why, though. Why is less overall but more variety be more satisfying than more overall but less variety. I can see that it's true, I just wonder why. Because it looks like you ate more? How full you feel doesn't necessarily have to do with the calories or the volume or the weight of the fo...

Honestly? I wouldn't use it. Not counting calories is actually the point of No S. You can buy a notebook and write down your meals, like this: Wednesday Breakfast: baked eggs Lunch: capeseed roll with tuna and mayonnaise, plus a tomato Dinner: minestrone soup with green salad (including avocado and ...

Yesterday was my first S day. It wasn't as bad as I expected - I thought I'd be eating everything in sight, and nothing ar meals :D Instead, I had a regular breakfast - a sandwich, with white bread, this time - then I had some sweets, chocolate, mostly, and dinner at 5 pm. And more sweets. But actua...

Today was the last school day before fall break (yes, that exists) and our teacher was passing around a bowl full of candy. And you know what? I took it, and then I just passed it on . I'm so proud :D Breakfast: sandwich (as usual) Lunch: pasta, eggs, bacon (all thrown into a frying pan together :sh...

A major use of vanilla is in flavoring ice cream. The most common flavor of ice cream is vanilla, and thus most people consider it to be the "default" flavor. By analogy, the term "vanilla" is sometimes used as a synonym for "plain".

That's not how I've spelled it in the past, but it's charming. I think I'll spell it that way from now on. :) Oh... I see. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canoeing Why did I think - oh well. Whatever. Actually, we use kayaks, but the class is called "canoeing", don't ask me why. It's usually really ex...

That's good to know. So... today... This morning, I got up, made the usual sandwich and put it in a box to take to school. Then I put it on the kitchen table along with my bottled water and forgot about it. I was hungry all day, and in the last two classes, I wasn't even able to concentrate properly...

Dinner: This: http://putzlowitsch.de/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/broetchen-640.jpg with lunch meat, four radishes with salt, 1.5 glasses of milk. The deferred consumption (plate it now, eat it later) you mentioned is not a catastrophe either. Be a little careful that you don't sabotage yourself, but ...

Katie's Daily Check-In (new!)
So this is what I'm going to do. Just plain ol' vanilla No S, it's most important to form the habit right now, I think. Also, I'm going to become an Urban Ranger: I usually take the bus from my school to the train station, where I get on another bus to go home. I sometimes walk to the station, that'...

Katie wants to lose those American extra pounds
Hi there! I'm Katie, I'm 16, and I'm from Germany. I spent the last school year in Florida as an exchange student and gained about 10 lb. American food is a little... different from ours, not to mention the different eating habits (no breakfast, chicken sandwich at school, chocolate chip pancakes at...
