Welcome, Braden! First of all, congratulations! I wish I had had the sense to start this approach to eating when I was 15 - it would have saved me years and years and years of having my life revolve around food. I agree with everyone who's told you not to focus on the number on the scale. Can you lo...

My comfort meal has always been creamed chicken on biscuits. It's the meal I always picked as a little girl on my birthdays.

But after reading this thread, I know what I'm making on Saturday - grilled cheese sandwich with Jarlsburg cheese for lunch and chicken enchiladas for the week ahead.

^^Thank, Kevin! I very much appreciate your encouragement to newbies like me. I see you are the founder of the 21-day club, and that was a very big motivator for those first 21 days. I had opposite problems on my S-days. Saturday I worked an adoption fair for the cat rescue group I volunteer with. That meant no lunch, and by the time I got home I was too tired to make a meal. So my food intake for the day was a bowl of Kix cereal with a cup of skim milk, one banana, two slices o...

I made Zuppa Toscana for supper last night, and it was delicious! I used turkey Italian sausage, and that broth and the bacon made it taste wonderful. This is the first time I've ever cooked with kale. Thanks for a recipe I'll be using again.

I think in the book Reinhard says if it's a hearty soup, add a hunk of bread and call it a meal. If it's a lighter soup, use a smaller plate for the rest of your meal. I've been doing this for just over a month, and I too have a lot of weight to lose. But there are so many good things about eating t...

I agree. My favorite thing about No-S is how I feel after a meal - satisfied. Not stuffed, not hungry, not resentful - just satisfied. I'm choosing my meals based on what appeals to me; I'm reassured by the structure of No-S that I CAN have my favorite foods without overeating.

Sometimes mothers use food as a way to show love, and their children's eating is a way of accepting that. When you've finished your full plate could you try saying "Thanks, Mom - I really enjoyed that meal." That acknowledges her taking care of you. And when she asks if you want more, you can calmly...
