Okay, I'm doing these every other day now (on non SG days). Pretty soon I'm going to go to sets of 75 (or at least try to). I can bang through 60 pretty easily. I may not have great form, though. On off days, I do slow diamonds, Hindus, close arms, wide arms, etc. to improve my form and add variety....

Enjoy the binge. You won't be doing much of it anymore, becuase you'll know you can, so you won't need to. I'm betting that next weekend your binges will be smaller.

I would think, though, that eating in the middle of the night should be avoided if at all possible. It can't be good for you.

Way to go

Way to go, EMB. I'm a little over three months in and down about 16 pounds. I don't even miss the way I used to eat anymore.

trans fats

Welcome back!

As a member of the middle-age club, I've been paying attention to the recent uproar about hydrogenated (a.k.a. trans) fats. If you haven't already, you might want to read up on them.

Welcome, Kelly

Good luck with No-S. It's not always easy, but any success will actually help. Nothing succeeds like success, so keep one promise to yourself, from one meal to another, and every one after that gets easier. I'm glad you are doing shovelglove, too, but let me suggest you check out Urban Ranger as wel...

Do 14 minutes. Even if you rest for two minutes, twice, do 14 minutes.

The munchies

They do hit hard from time to time. Just waiting it out might make them go away. The times that they've really hit me were unpredictable. Sometimes I'd go weeks being fine, then have four or five days when I was looking longingly at other people's snacks...

The afternoon munchies can be very difficult to control from time to time. Maybe he needs bigger meals. And, if this isn't too hard for him (I'm assuming he's having trouble around dinner time because he's thinking about dinner), he might get ahead of the curve by making dinner in the morning, so th...

travel mishaps

I have to agree: you do the best you can when you are travelling. If you feel like it, do penance. That's what I do. I do an extra 30 minutes of walking or an extra session of SGing when I make one of those borderline, almost unavoidable mistakes. It re-inforces the habit in a positive way, it's goo...

Deb, Mets

Deb, Ron Darling, one of the really good pitchers from the Mets mid-80s teams, does the TV play by play for the Nats. A very intelligent, Yale educated. Carolejo... I recommend this: work yourself into a complete muck sweat for a couple of days in a row. squats

I'm doing them completely unweighted, fast, working backto 100 at a set, but I can usually only do one set. Once you get past 50, it feels like running hard uphill.

Really fit folks that do these regularly can do 300-500 at a clip. Yikes!

I was there for that game, too. The scoreboard went out: I took that as a terrible omen. I was there for the loss to Toronto in late June that sort of started their slide. Sigh. It's peanut butter and bacon on toasted white bread . It's hardly health food. Use whatever peanut butter suites you. :0) I had one for breakfast this morning with a glass of milk. Deb, you know better: nothing counterbalances bacon. But you can't live forever. I like contrasting foods. But mostly, I like peanut butter and bacon... If you try it, make sure it's on white toast. I'm glad you were there to see it in person. My son and I were watching it on TV and as soon as the pitcher let go of it my son muttered "that's gone." Picture perfect swing, a thing of beauty. While Atkins eliminated the refined, processed grains from people's diet, it introduced tons of refined, processed meat .
