I'm sending you a private message so that I don't write The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich here, but I will say briefly that it's probably better just to accept that habits are often changed gradually and that the pendulum swing is an apt metaphor. You are not a criminal. Just focus on getting the...

Cassie, almost everybody here (except Reinhard) has been there, meaning lost and gained, though not necessarily on No S. I'm not sure you're ready to hear this, but I want to ask you to give up the idea of weight loss for awhile and just concentrate on an attitude of moderation toward food for the l...

I don't know what your meals are like, but I found that adding just two teaspoons of oil to my lunch, if I already wasn't having cheese or a less lean meat, made a big difference in the afternoon. What about having a whole glass of milk in addition to your coffee midway between meals? And I have fou...

It's not a long rant! This one will be. No S is not about being very thin, or training to be an athlete, or anything like that. In a paradoxical way way, it's not even about losing weight. It is about abstaining from people's most offensive eating habits, learning to respond to hunger with discrete ...

Also, just because you pulverize solid foods into drinkable form doesn't make them a beverage in the true sense of the word. The main content should be water, as milk and fruit juices mostly are. And water. If you do your cardio in the morning (just to feel good) and have your smoothie as a meal, yo...

As has been said before, No S is for the long run, not for quick weight loss, although some people might lose soon and quickly. It may depend on what your issues were. I think I have done quite well because my big issue was bingeing on sweets when I was NOT hungry. The longer I could wait to eat, th...

I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we could 1) rant about any other system we've tried or run across or 2) feel sorry for people who resort to tactics we know must be or will be painful in the long run. This was prompted by browsing Sparkpeople.com where I am a member (and on a pretty ...

Working on round 3 of 21-day club. Funny stuff today. Went to a coffee shop to try to work and have lunch. Kept getting kicked off Internet, so I left after I got my sandwich. I know this is getting technical, but do you know what your bodyfat% is? I just checked your BMI and you are in the normal range, so it is going to be harder to fight your way down, esp. if you are a mesomorph and naturally have more muscle. I agree with what the reason is. I'm a teacher and our mealtimes are notoriously short. If I confer with a student, call a parent, or answer even one email, I may likely not get to finish my lunch, which is always a reasonable amount. Even if I forget my lunch and have to go to the cafeteria, it cut...
