One man's ceiling is another man's floor. I've convinced myself that a goal of 25% bodyfat at age 55 probably has to be good enough. i've been lower in my adult life but it was a strain. given that, I'm drooling over your 19% and wishing you wouldn't aim for less since that makes us 25%-ers look, as...

KCCC, You are so right about the fine points of what constitutes a binge (although I'm not sure, say, one inhaled bag of M & M's would rate that). shouldn't be spongey

Eggplant is just one of those foods that is not meant to be eaten raw, or even close to it, much like winter squashes, even though they are very different. It should not be spongey! With water sauteeing, the water will not heat to the same degree as oil, so foods must be cooked longer. But, really, ...

unbeatable formula

A few years ago I took off 20 lbs. using WW to monitor, but basically I was doing something similar to NO S. (I never got into all the discussions on lowfat this and non-sugar that and dipping my fork in salad dressing instead of putting the dressing on my salad, etc.) My physician's assistant was p...

too full!

Thanks for that suggestion. I've been having lean protein at most meals for years, for mostly that reason. A pretty big chunk, too! But I still get very hungry. I just can't fit in more at mealtime. Three ounces of chicken is about 120 cal. One tablespoon of fat is about the same, but takes up much ...

a question and comment

1) Did some people find they had to have fattier meals when they started? I'm used to eating higher volume foods at my meals, but like many have said, I get very hungry between meals. I felt today like I could hardly get home fast enough to have dinner at 5:15! I can't eat much more at meals without...

not success. forgot meds so drank a cup of hot chocolate in hopes the caffeine would wake me up. Mr. Z gave me a little Snickers bite as a way to torture the students--ha! 'Course, I didnt have to eat it. no despair, though. all in all, a good day.

more maxims

Hope I got the format right. I don't know where I got it-maybe I made it up!- but I use Enough is better than more than enough. Also, from a time management book How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life (can't remember author) Is this the best use of my time right now? Lastly, for now, from Dr....

might be, could be

Hmm, I wonder if I'll be a convert. I have lost weight before. Usually, I start out with the same zeal as I have before when I've failed, and a few weeks later, see that I have actually stuck with it. I've never set a goal to do it, and then did it. So I would be happy to fall into success here, too...

Wow

I am really impressed by your results and joyful that you've been released from the preoccupation with dieting, et al. This is my dream, too. Although I would like to be slimmer and I think I will be when I am eating reasonably, my real secret goal is just not to be worrying that I will abuse food. ...
