Initially, on NoS, I deliberately switched to decaf coffee, but upped my tea intake. Now I find that my tea drinking has reduced without me thinking about it (which means my caffeine intake has gone down). And, I've stopped having milky decafs in the morning before I leave for work - that wasn't del...

Had a v good weekend this time - well, I was happy with it. I stuck to No S all weekend but shared 100g block of organic chocolate with someone on Saturday night (pre-planned - I know that's a lot of chocolate - but there was no emotional eating/binging) and I had sweetened yoghurt for dessert on Su...

Hmm, I didn't think I was imagining it...I found this article about sleeplessness being linked to obesity: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Story?id=305906&page=1 Obviously, its not an excuse to give up on healthy eating and exercise, but it makes it clear to me that it's also part of the equation to ge...

Affects of Stress or lack of sleep
Does anyone else really feel the affects on their weight of being stressed out or of not getting enough sleep? When my life is like that, then my weight loss is slow or I even gain weight (despite watching what I'm eating)...I'm pretty sure it's not my imagination (nor sneaky snacking! LOL)...

Hi Rheba, Have had a lot of stress the last three weeks and figure that might have something to do with the small weight loss. .[/quote] My body works like that too...if I am very stressed or I am not getting enough sleep, then my body gains weight (and certainly doesn't lose it) without much of a c...

Have had a successful No S week so far. I'm eating less meat and also my portions are smaller as I am being much more careful about fitting everything (fruit, yoghurt etc) onto the one plate with the rest of my meal. I walked Monday. No chance to do that yesterday but had my usual long walk this mor...

Have had a good week food-wise. Stuck to NoS and really focussed on lots of veg and vegetarian or fish-based meals - although I think I am probably eating too much at mealtimes (surprise!). From reading the posts about 'fruit' on the general discussion list, I realise that I am adding a piece of fre...

V interesting - and timely. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I've already started to cut back on meat - we eat it at dinner, but alternate with fish, chicken and vegetarian meals. But our meals mostly revolve around some kind of 'flesh'. I'd like to go largely vego. My daughter hasn't bee...

Well, so much for my resolve. Had a ghastly blow-out weekend with an extra day (long weekend here for the Queen's birthday). Back on track yesterday. Walked on Saturday and yesterday and will walk today. Am trying to work out why I find the weekends so hard - my snacking/bingeing on weekends is defi...

Haven't been exercising this week - used the excuse of the rain (which has been bucketing down - and how). Also ate too much on Monday and Tuesday (what really amounted to seconds). Am back on track foodwise now though. Had a good day yesterday and today is going ok. :) Am looking forward to the wee...

I have to say, I don't have an opinion about low carb/high carb, but I also fit the 'sugar addict' description to a tee - and I have a really hard time on S days if I start eating sugary carbs - just can't stop. And it's interesting, but I too find that NoS gives me more energy and leaves my head mu...

The weekend was good. I stuck to my resolve not to snack. I did allow myself dessert both days - tinned fruit and jelly on saturday night and icecream and milo on Sunday night. I was happy with that. If I can establish a no-snacking habit on weekends, I'll be thrilled. Yesterday wasn't that wonderfu...
