Your meals sound like mine, Wosnes. I avoid soy entirely. I am hypothyroid, which of course is a reason to avoid soy, but also since it's usually GM and estrogenic - which the males in my family especially don't need. You mention butter in oatmeal. I used to wonder how people could say oatmeal 'stic...

Interesting - some good comments as well. I keep thinking of the one that said s/he has been able to create a good habit in 21 days, but found it takes much longer to change a bad habit. I'd never thought if it that way.

Your favourite S Day indulgence?

What do you look forward to most on S Days? Snacks? A special dessert? Something else?

Thursday and Friday were both tests for me. I have been tired and unfocused and the world seemed to want to test my resolve by putting lots of my favourite baked goods on offer. I passed up all but one, and that one I put in the freezer for the weekend :) It took me several days to lose that pound ...

That is so like I would have been thinking. You know last week when I had a red day? I mentioned I sometimes have dark chocolate after a meal. This time I ate it and without thinking, I had a bit more. Even though I had less all together than I do some days all at once, but to me it was a 'fail' bec...

In my case, pretty much anything I want, and as much as I want, as long as it isn't a sweet :)

The list is long and delicious :)

I just helped my son make peanut butter cups and didn't eat any..though they smell wonderful. If I want one, they'll still be there Saturday :) (and if not, we'll make more!)

I understand that overeating is in itself, inflammatory - which is why people feel so icky all over when they eat too much. So it makes sense.

I have been looking on Facebook for a NoS page. For some reason it never turned up in my search, though I see here there is one.

I'm looking for more of a fan page than a group - since I already have this group - but I'd like to 'be a fan'.

Success. I had a busy day at work, but got a lot done which always feels good. Breakfast was scrambled eggs (with cream and extra yolk) cooked in butter and coconut oil, toast with butter and marmalade. Dinner was chicken and artichokes, brown basmati rice, leeks and yellow squash (rescued from las...

I don't worry about saturated fat - all that stuff about how bad it is for us is so outdated and disproven.

I'm calling today a failure. It's a bit borderline and maybe someone else would not see it as a failure - but it feels like it to me. I'm very disappointed - just four days short of my 21.

I have felt kinda low all day. Not all depressed or anything - just not cheerful and positive like I usually am. I think it's from weighing up a pound this morning.

I've got to find a way to deal with the scale that works for me, too.

Today is an up and down kinda day. Someone else complimented me today - which is the third person in the last week to mention it. I've lost four pounds, so maybe it's showing? The down bit is that the four pounds was Friday. Today I'm back up a pound after the weekend. I don't know if it's 'real' or...

We try to eat a traditional foods diet - meaning we avoid things created in a lab, things like artificial sweeteners and additives, MSG, Soy, vegetable oils (both of which are very unhealthy in spite of common belief) and as much as we can, stick to foods which have been around long term. We eat ful...

Glad to hear it. I made a double batch Saturday and did the same thing - froze it before the cream and kale went it. I got the kale from my garden and didn't have a whole lot anyway.

Glad you're doing so well.

Banana bread, pumpkin bread, chocolate chip cookies, cake - all of them homemade - so all good stuff :) Also a lot of other junk not homemade so didn't appeal - and oddly enough, sliced cucumbers which were offered for snacks, but I figured a snack is a snack and did not eat them.

What they said and remind yourself - you are not 'giving up' *anything* -the food is not going anywhere. It will be there on the S day - and you'll enjoy it even more.

Eat plenty of food you enjoy at meals on those N days, too. Just not sweets and seconds.
