Oh, Deb, I can relate to annoying financial issues--my student loans just somehow got readjusted (upward  don't know how THAT is possible) and it has thrown me into a bit of a spin about my budget. Blergh. ...and just look at your situation at work as an opportunity to work on your tolerance ...

Ah, Madame Deb, my space is your space--plus you bumped me to 2 pages! :) I tend to agree with you about "before" pics. While it might be interesting and motivating for other people to look at someone's before and after, I can see how a dramatic before would summon so many painful feelings. I guess ...

One of the best pieces of advice I've gotten re: exercise is that a bad workout is better than a good couch-sit. Good job, keep it up!

Thanks for the support, Jan! I can't do caffeine, but I'm always on the lookout for fun herbal (or decaf) teas. I love Celestial Seasons ones that taste like dessert, like Vanilla Hazelnut and English Toffee, and there's one really hearty one called Roastaroma that is barley-based and is really good...

Day 7 7/14 = SUCCESS ... ...and a hard fought success. Normal breakfast and lunch, blah blah, but went to a Mexican restaurant with some friends for dinner. Had a gorgeous salad with avacado, walnuts, oranges etc...but NOT ONE TORTILLA CHIP. This was huge for me. :) Whew. Nice workout, too--swam 150...

Hey, treadmill is good too!! Beats 100 degrees and humid or 20 below and icy, right?? Do it up. If that's what's going to do it for you, do it. :)

Riiiiiight. I do this a lot: when I read something, I somehow visually steal letters from another part of the document and incorporate them into the sentence that I'm reading, so that what read was "pumpkin seed bread" from "pumpkin bread" and "Speed Bump" from the line above. My bad.

The key here is that you are STILL eating less on a NoS day that you cheated on a little than you were on a normal day before. No worries, just try again today! Hang in there! :D

Pumpkin bread = yum. Total yum. Or is pumpkin seed bread something different...?

Anyway, can't wait for Thanksgiving to make pumpkin bread :)

I also don't have a food-tv association. I watch some tv now (but not a lot--I also don't have cable), but it never brings a snacky urge. Probably because I wasn't allowed to watch much tv growing up (and we had to mute--well, the 70s and 80s version of mute, which meant turn the volume all the way ...

How fun, Madame Deborah! That's funny about green, sour, and spring (like the only ones I didn't pick, not that I dislike those things--a good sour apple jolly rancher (green) on a nice April day rocks!). haha! ANYWAY! Day 6 = SUCCESS In addition to no funny stuff (my meals get repetitive, so I'll s...

Yeah, Samurai, I'm trying to work out what to think about the scale. I am the opposite of you--I rarely weigh myself, so I don't have a great idea of what the fluctuations are going to be or what to expect. We'll see. Anyway, keep up the good work--your post always make me want Mexican food! M...

Thanks Ariel, Nathan, and Deb! I can recognize that I look pretty good (especially because that pic was 6 about pounds ago), but I'd like my clothes from a few years ago to fit again, and about 20 pounds from now is where I feel the best...also, for me, healthy is just as much about attitude (in thi...
