lpearlmom - Wow, great job on the exercise!! That is a lot! I know cardio really spikes my hunger levels. My hunger is controlled best by shorter, more intense workouts, like HIIT, and strength training. You are doing a great job and I hope you will get to go shopping for those cute new outfits soon!!

Sorry to hear about your Nanny, ironchef. What a wonderful circle of support she has, to be surrounded by family during this time. Great job on keeping those days green and getting out on walks! I love the exchange between ironbaby and mr. chef! Children are so funny. I have a 4-year old son that cr...

Today was a success! My big win today was lunch time. The guy that services our copy machine showed up right as I had grabbed my lunch out of the fridge to be warmed up. He was there for an hour and I didn't want to eat until he was gone so I could relax and enjoy my meal without interruptions. I se...

Lovedby2 - So sad about your grandma's Fiestaware! I adore mine and hope I can pass it on to my son (or his future life partner, he's 4, so I will get to enjoy it for many more years yet). I registered for mine when my husband and I got married, so I have many place settings in different colors, and...

Wow, way to handle your emotions. You really hit it out of the park with not eating after a funeral. That would be really hard. Sorry for your loss. Don't feel guilty about the amount you are eating at your meals right now. You are following the habits, you had 3 meals, one plate each and no snackin...

DSTSS - I read the Beck Diet Solution a few years ago. It was a great read! I should go back to it and look at the parts I've highlighted. Thanks for bringing it up! nbh76 - I bought beautiful, smaller dishes too. I am a Fiesta fan, so I have picked out my favorite colors and all my dishes are misma...

Hi Kathie! Thanks for the kind words. I'm actually impressed by what has happened in the past week and a half too. It's pretty amazing how something so simple can make such a big difference. Today was a success. One new thing that happened today was that I left food on my plate at lunch time. Since ...

I agree with Retrogirl, Old Fashioned Oats are awesome. For even more rib-sticking power, I add eggs to mine, turning them into "Proats." The protein and fat is a huge help in keeping blood sugar stable, in addition to the oats. If you're interested, Pinterest and Google are a great place to find re...

HappyHiker- Thank you for posting that article, that's really interesting! Walking is sustainable (like No S), and injury rate is low. I just started adding in two 20 minute walks during my work breaks. I was previously a runner but have injured my knee and have to back off running for a while. I am...

Things are going very well. I've learned that hunger will not hurt me and I am thoroughly enjoying my meals. I use a luncheon plate (9") for eating most meals unless I am absolutely famished and then I switch to a normal dinner plate (10.5"). It's amazing how much more food fits on a dinner plate. I...

Interesting that you bring up sleep, because just this morning I was listening to the podcast Progress Not Perfection, hosted by Alen Standish. It was episode 52 and his guest was Tim Pychyl from the iProcrastinate Podcast. Right at the end of episode 52, Tim was talking about sleep procrastination,...

You have great awareness! That's a big deal. You weren't mindlessly eating and knew exactly what you were doing. Nice job on that! You reacted kindly when your dad commented on your food intake. If someone comments on my eating, it causes me to rebel. I don't like being told what to do so I probably...

Retrogirl - I would not worry about the 2 pounds. Sugar = carbs, and carbs hold a lot more water than protein or fat. If I weighed myself today, I am sure I'd be up too. Have you ever weighed less on a Monday morning than a Friday morning? Not me, lol!! You will lose the extra water weight in the ne...

jbgnos - Yes, not obsessing is the BEST. You're right, we are litter mates, lol! It will be nice to have a few of us going through the stages together. Today was nearly a normal day. I had a regular breakfast, ran 4 miles, then had lunch. The only S I added was an apple after my meal, and I dipped i...

jbgnos - I'm with you! After having one S day experience, I was missing the N day structure. I listened to Reinhard's podcast about the S day mod he calls No Solitary Snacking. I think that is a great strategy, and having a sweet or treat directly following one of the three meals (however many plate...

I made it through my first S day, and today I have the intention of now allowing myself to get overfull. Yesterday I had my normal breakfast (7:30), then a very late lunch (2ish) so I was starving!!! I didn't go crazy at lunch time, but there was grazing throughout the rest of the day and it just le...

It is interesting to see how meals are changing, isn't it? I for one am shocked how much food I used to eat when I did the typical dieters 5-6 meals/snacks per day. I am eating so much less food and stuff is going bad in my fridge, lol!! It will be fun to see what happens a few weeks from now and ho...

Too funny about our food choices being similar! It's good stuff! No S is awesome. I am so thankful for the guidelines. I know that some people say people that have struggled with food shouldn't have "rules" and just eat what they want, but that doesn't work for me. It causes me too much anxiety. So ...

Keep at it, you'll get it figured out! I have learned that I need to have a decent amount of fat in my meals to keep me satiated for hours. For breakfast I eat eggs, because the yolk has fat that keeps me full. For lunch today I included a tablespoon of peanut butter on my plate because I was eating...

Kittson's Check In
Well, I wasn't going to post or have a daily check in, but I just finished listening to the "What the Hell" podcast episode. I can see how being specific on what the exact fail was would help from sabotaging the whole day. Since my husband and friends don't know that I am doing this diet, I don't ha...
