Hi Rawcookie, Congratulations on a perfect November of NoS! Interesting comment you made on a check-in thread about providing food for visiting relatives at Christmas. There is always the challenge of saying "no" to people who are trying to push unwanted holiday food on us, but the challenge of prov...

I did sit down and eat, and even ate the cheesecake at the table instead of off a kid's plate that I was throwing away. Thanks, Allisonmeg. I think that is a real victory, sitting down for your meal, when that is not your usual habit. I know there is nothing in NoS that says you have to sit down fo...

Well, here it is Thanksgiving Day! I plan to go to a potluck this evening, so the day seems to be playing out as a sort of moderate S day. I had a heavy plate of my usual fare for breakfast, and then a large bowl of salad with a banana for lunch. The potluck is at 6pm, but I imagine we won't really ...

Hubby said to me today that he thinks this diet is really working for me. I said it's not a diet, it's a habit. He said, whatever, it really works well with me--yay!!! Hi Allisonmeg, Glad things are going well and that your husband is supportive and can see the good NoS is doing you! We're allowed ...

Nice to see that you're doing so well, Rawcookie, and that it just gets easier and easier for you. Heh, my mealtime policy is kind of the mirror image of yours... no matter how late I eat breakfast (even if it's 10 am), I can eat my lunch at whatever time I want to (even if that is 11 am), supper is...

For right now when I'm on a medicine that makes me hungry throughout the day (no way I could fast for long periods) and with my husband having to eat regular meals for his diabetes care, No-S makes the most sense by far. It seems like NoS can go along with a wide variety of schedules and special co...

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, Linda and Oolala! Long day on the bus brought me back to where I usually live and work. It was nice to have an S day, though I've only had a 5g sugar sweet thing as an S today. I'm eating kind of a snacky supper, and may have another snack later if I want to. I follow...

I traveled in Peru several years ago, where the poverty rate is 50%. However, there are tons of obese people... the restaurants served lunches and dinners with typically a mountain of French fries. In East Africa there is a new-ish idea for small business, where someone is set up with a deep fat fr...

Well, Gingerpie, I guess it can all be chalked up to "valuable information". For me, when I maintain or gain with good compliance, it lets me know that the "what" on my plates is too heavy for me at this weight, age, etc. It's not always pleasant, but the information can be helpful. I often have to ...

The thing that helps me most with that problem is eating supper fairly early. Much earlier than most people. If I go to bed sort of hungry I don't wake up that much hungrier for breakfast. But if I have to wait to eat until late in the evening, I really suffer from feeling too hungry before I get to...
