3 Year Anniversary of NoS! It only gets better.....

Woohoo! This month I celebrate 3 Years of NoS sanity.

For those who want the whole story, I list my two earlier anniversary posts:

Year 1 Check-in: http://www.everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5306
Year 2 Check-in: http://www.everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6629

I reread them today, and everything I wrote then still holds true today.

So what has this third year of NoS brought to me?

First, the metrics: I've lost another 5 pounds and "half" a size. In other words, a total of 45 pounds, and some clothes that were formerly tight fit comfortably, and I sometimes need to drop down a size when shopping to get a good fit.

Second, the lifestyle: I absolutely LOVE how NoS flexes with my life. For example, last fall/winter, we were on a three month furlough. Every other furlough, I've gained 10 pounds. This time, even while enjoying all kinds of treats and being guests and many days of eating out, I lost 1/2 pound. Another example: All summer we host boatloads of people and I used to gain weight because of the sheer amount of "company" meals and special events. But now, I can enjoy these months, knowing that while I won't lose, I won't gain either. And the peace of mind that brings is priceless.

Third, the inner mind: I've gotten even more in tune with my body. In the past three months or so, I've slowly realized that after eating my "normal" meals, I wasn't really getting hungry by the time the next meal rolled around--and I didn't like that still-stuffed feeling! I am in the process of learning to reduce my portion sizes just the amount I need to in order to enjoy my meals, be energized, and happily anticipate the next one when the next meal time rolls around. I am getting there, but summertime is a challenge due to our many guests and events.

What's next? NoS, of course! And probably another 5 pounds this year and a whole lot of enjoyment. It really does just get better and better....

Fantastic! I love hearing long-term success stories like yours, I think it's where NoS really beats the competition most decisively. Well done, and congratulations on your continued success.

What an awsome testimonial. My husband and I are missionaries and we do the furlough thing sometimes twice a year to meet with all of our churches. I know how those are and anyone who can come away from furlough and lose weight is doing quite well.

Congrats on finding your sanity, it is such a wonderful feeling. I'm only 2 months into No S and so glad to read success stories..everyone on here is wonderful and helpful.

Here's to ya and your next weight loss goal, but mostly to the sanity we learn from No S.
