*** June Challenge ***

Post by eschano » Tue Jun 02, 2015 11:27 am

Hello! So 100 days is too much for me, I find a month more manageable but good luck for anyone on the 100 days challenge!

1 - had some cheese and crackers after dinner but all fit on one plate.
2 - more cheese but again, one plate, woohoo!
3 - no funny cheese business either- yay! It helped to have a meeting late in the evening- no time to snack.
4 - I felt hunger again for the first time in months - welcome friend!
5 - Yay! My first green week since the wedding and hard won as well. A colleague bought me a magnum ice cream and I politely declined as I don't even like them. I felt bad as it was about to melt but one of our other colleagues was delighted to get it.
6 - S DAY - went spinning
7 - S DAY - went to a 30min personal trainer session
8 - some funny cheese business. Not having sweets and snacks are my main goals so it's definitely a win as a pack of kinder Buenos was starring me in the face all evening. Hard won.
9 - despite having a work event at an Italian restaurant
10 - funny stuff as had some tortilla crisps before dinner but fit on a plate
11 - I need to get out of the a cracker with cheese post-dinner habit. It does fit on a plate so is all good but still!
12 - no funny business yay!
13 - S Day
14 - S Day 30min personal training session
15 - felt nauseous and headachy so no dinner for me. Technically a fail as it wasn't three plates?
16 - Funnily the day where I was unwell led to a kind of restart of NoS. I feel like my body was craving fruit and veggies as opposed to other things and I had an amazing day food wise. It's nearly like the overstuffedness of previous weeks was broken by not having dinner that night - still, not something I will try to force again.
17 - a client meeting finished early so I was home an hour early and used the time to make a delicious Parmegiana. Lovely and filling.
18 - dinner out but stuck to NoS
19 - easy enough
20 - S Day - spinning
21 - S Day - a mini yoga work out
22 - a very good start into the week.
23 - to bee seen. Started with making sugar-free vegan muffins for breakfast which was ok.
24 - I had an intentional fail. My CEO celebrated his bday with us with a cake from a very well known super expensive bakery and I enjoyed my slice very much. It was a snack as well as we did this mid-morning. Otherwise I stuck to my guns, had my veg with rice for lunch and salad for dinner.
25 - all good
26 - another even more amazing cake from our CEO. Bday celebrations are official over now though.
27 - S Day - spinning
28 - S Day - chill out
29 - healed my indigestion issues with a handful of dates post-dinner which I'd count as sweets but they sorted me out alright!
30 -

13 - S Day
14 - S Day
15 - days when I am tired are the worst for me, I finally gave in at 8pm. I will not make giving in habit!!
16 -
17 - I stayed home from work, always a recipe for disaster
18 - so close, had a piece of fruit late in the evening mostly to keep myself from eating chocolate :)

1 - Not on Nosdiet
2 - Who starts a diet on a Tuesday? This girl, apparently. :) I'm back to sensibility after a long absence filled with silly things like calorie counting and extreme carbohydrate restriction (and no weight loss to show for my troubles).
3 - Quite pleased with myself--I was home all day, and stuck to my three plates.

5 -
6 - S DAY
7 - S DAY
8 -
9 - Today was rough. But, despite my day not going as planned, I stuck to my plan of three meals. I'm exhausted, but grateful that I didn't top off a day of trials with a big, red fail. :)
10 -
11 - Four pounds down from my restart. :)
12 -
13 - S Day

15 -
16 - I put too little on my plate at each meal. I left all three meals still feeling a little hungry. Unsurprisingly, this didn't end well. Today, I've got more filling plates planned. Lesson learned--I'm not ready to scale back my meals quite yet. Or, perhaps I should just scale back one at a time, instead of all three.

I know these threads are meant to be visited and updated only, but I keep forgetting without an email reminder. Is anyone willing to update and then just reply so an email alert goes out? Yes, I admit it's pitiful to ask...

My first fail since my restart. It wasn't a huge fail, but still not ideal. I tried to trim my meals back all at once, and it left my hungry and vulnerable to some late night snacking. Back at it today. :)

Exercise is the next thing I need to add consistently. I'm getting over bronchitis at the moment. I hope to restart a 14 minute kettle-bell routine on Monday.

I'm finding myself slipping. 3 red days this week. I don't want to give up on this again. I need to stay focused! This funeral last week threw me for a loop and I haven't been able to get my head back in the game since then. Needing some encouragement.

jcourtney, I've written you a separate longer note. Suffice it to say here that a few fails doesn't mean it's not going to kick in. Do your best to have a two green days before the weekend. Remember that it's often just a matter of getting through a couple of hours before the next meal. You can do it!

Jcourtney, I agree with oolala. I can't begin to count the number of fails I've had but I just kept trying to make the next day better than the one before it. Eventually (think months not weeks) enough little changes stuck that I felt I improved my eating habits for the better enough that it was worth sticking with the program. Then, I had a small amount of weight loss Despite my many fails. Once that happened, I realized I didn't have to be perfect to be successful And that revelation was enormously freeing.

Recently, I realized that How I handle breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day. Good breakfast = healthfull food choices all day. Haphazard breakfast = poor food choices all day. Could something like that be happening to you?

You mentioned a funeral that threw you off. Are you able to identify why and perhaps address your feelings around the funeral in a non-food way?

No need to respond if you aren't comfortable posting about it. Just want to give you some Ideas. Good luck and please don't give up.

Thank you all so much! I think it's mostly just tiredness ans stress, both of which are triggers for me. I'm working hard on focusing on why I'm doing this and not letting the failures derail me. I'm also going to still allow myself my S days this weekend instead of telling myself that I can make it up later. Take the failure, learn from it, and move on.

Oh, yes, take the S days, if you want the S's. If we start trading off S days because we've been failing on N days, it messes with the habit. It actually helps to feel that N days are our best chance to establish eating sanity, just like eventually our plates have to support our long term goals.

Could have sworn I made a schedule post with days I had been compliant recently. Oh, well. I'm giving myself credit for exercise yesterday, even though it was an S day. I need to pat myself on the back whenever I can.

Minimizer!!
Now is the time to show what you are made of! It's hard to put a green end to a red streek. It's soo much easier to say 'Oh well, I just blew it!' and give up. But come on!

I've also had losing streeks and always quit afterwards. I wouldn't even come to the bulletin board to check in again. So since you DO have THAT strength, I suspect that you aren't doing so bad afterall. You're so honest with yourself!

Please enjoy your coming S days like you've never done before and give us 2 habit-building green days on monday & tuesday. Or maybe just one day, or even just a meal free of seconds and sweets. I KNOW you can do it! You deserve this green ending :D

I've finally been doing some yard work that I've neglected for a few years! It's inspiring me to know that it helps meet my goal to be on my feet for at least three hours of the day. I don't have to be working hard the whole time, but grappling with an overgrown bougainvillea isn't cake! Worth it. It's work AND getting things done. I decided that I'm rewarding myself by going on a rather expensive (for me) two-day vacation to a dance camp next week.

I've been to two dance classes recently because we had a guest teacher that was rather good.

And I've been doing walking with sometimes interspersing rope jumping, 130 revolutions at a time.

Was doing 14 minutes of bodyweight and weight exercises, but haven't done that for a bit.

Maybe in July?

Failed at food yesterday big time, right at the end of the day. Nothing to do but try again. I'll keep reminding myself I'd like to finish June with a success.
