Introduction

Post by Nielsio » Fri Jun 23, 2006 3:20 am

Hey guys, I'm just in. I've read a bunch of the stuff and started with No S last week and bought/made shovel today. It's all very rational and exciting, and I think you've done a great job at it all. The hammer they had here was only 3 KG (6.7 lbs), so I made 1 out of 2 of them.

I'm 25 and haven't been able to sport the last year and especially the last couple of months because of some chronic problems with my feet (meaning I have to switch to different exercise). I have always been very active in sports so I want to get back into shape.

Welcome, Nielsio.

A double hammer sounds a little unwieldy... you might want to consider using just one for now until you get the habit down. Building the habit and routine are harder than building muscle, and an unstable tool can make that tricky... though maybe I'm underestimating your mechanical savvy and your compound hammer is actually an elegant creation.

Best of luck and keep us posted,

Reinhard

It's very solid, don't worry. With oversized tie-raps, a good length of rope, a small block of wood inbetween them in the middle and some finishing with duck-tape, it's very sturdy and actually a pretty good grip to hold onto.

I tore my pants last week so I'm using that in stead of an old sweater; sorry for swimming so much against the stream ;)

Welcome Neilsio! I'm sure you'll find that No S is the only way to go!
It's time to make it beautiful.
