Limited resources for self-control.

Post by Too solid flesh » Mon Oct 15, 2007 3:34 pm

Scott Adams's blog has an entertaining piece about self-control today:

http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_dilb ... al-wi.html

and the information to which he links is here:

Basically, exercising self-control takes effort, and we have limited resources. Hooray for no-s, which helps set automatic habits so that self-control resources are less stretched!

Thought-provoking... and rings true.

Yup, habit-building is definitely the way to go.

Very funny... yeah, the fact that you have "limited reserves of willpower" is at the core of No-s. Use whatever remains to fend off amorous cartoonists, ladies :-).

Fascinating!
Thanks for sharing.

This might happily explain why my ability to focus on tasks at hand and my productivity has gone through the roof on No S ... all that RELEASED self-control ... previously used for food/eating issues is freed up for life and the living of it!
