What's the best way to start a Blog?

HI!

I don't have a blog, and the only time I tried to start one I could not come up with a username that somebody else hadn't already picked so I gave up.

Where's the best place to go to start a blog and how do you get around the username thingy? Even really weird and wacky names had already been picked it seemed.

www.blogspot.com is where I do my blog. It's pretty straigtforward. As far as your username I guess you just have to keep trying,
