new year's retroactive resolution

Post by BigE » Wed Jun 24, 2009 11:22 pm

In response to what I read in the No S Diet book about New Year's resolutions being ineffective: my husband's idea is to have a "retroactive resolution" in which you celebrate some good habit you have successfully established in the previous year. Examples have been: recycling more and replacing Coke with green tea. It's much more positive, and I find that throughout the year I anticipate what will be my "retroactive resolution" on Jan. 1. Right now I'm planning to announce in January that I quit snacking seconds and sweets on N days.

Good idea... I'm sick of my repeated annual resolution, it's always the same and always fails. I like the positive approach! Remind us of that mid-December!
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.
Please pray for me
