Slim Fast's new slogan

Post by Nichole » Sat Apr 17, 2010 1:35 am

I was watching Jaime Oliver's Food Revolution and a Slim Fast commercial comes on - kind of funny right there if you think about that. Anyway, here's their new slogan:

"Slim Fast: Who Has Time to Slim Slowly?"

This makes me so mad! What a crock of crud. I hope that people are not uneducated enough to believe this claim, that it's better to lose quickkly, but I suppose they are, since this company is STILL in business. The only healthy and sustainable weight loss, for the most part, is slow weight loss. A lb or two a week. I can't believe a slogan would try to convince you to do otherwise. I know this isn't THAT serious, but it still ticks me off, lol.

PLUS, it goes against everything the program Slim Fast is sponsoring is trying to promote! Jaime Oliver would never touch Slim Fast, yet it is helping put his show on the air.

I, too, am watching Jamie Oliver. I saw the ad for Slim Fast where this comedienne jokes about taking diet pills and their side effects... why go through that when you can have a slim fast!

Yeah, it's a shame that this company has to be a sponsor. I used to drink them because I used to not eat breakfast and I thought it was better if I did have one. Well, the sweetness of it just made me hungrier, especially for the wrong things.

AFN (American Forces Network), which shows American programing for the military in Europe is not allowed to show commercials, so I had not seen this until I watched something on hulu.com the other day and it was one of the "sponsors." What a horrible tag line. Instant gratification. Gah!

'Course , this is only one study, but it comes from a link at the National Weight Control Registry.

Who has the time to lose and gain, lose and gain? I did, apparently, for 40 years. Not out of the woods yet, but Slim Fast will not be with me as I meander.
