Coming up on one year of No S later this month

Post by Nicest of the Damned » Mon May 16, 2011 2:09 pm

May 27 will be my one-year anniversary of being on No S. I started on it after I had quit my job and come back from a vacation in North Carolina. I didn't start keeping a HabitCal till August. I'm still sticking with No S.

I had never been able to stick with a diet this long before in my life. If you'd told me a year and a half ago that this was going to happen, I'd have laughed at you, and said it was more likely that pigs would fly. Well, I guess there'll be pork in the trees come May 27.

I think No S helped me get through a rather low point in my life, this past year. I felt terrible about the end of my old job and the difficulty I had in finding a new one, and my self-esteem suffered for that. But at least I was, most of the time, able to avoid snacks, sweets, and seconds. Sometimes you have to take what successes you can get in life. It gave me some feeling of control in a time of my life when that was hard to come by.

Congratulations! Just 3 more days. It's a Friday, so you'll have to stay up till midnight to properly celebrate. :-)
