Good Foods Bad Foods

I was thinking about how we have been taught to demonize some foods and glorify others. As time goes on everything seems to change lists over and over. One days eggs are evil the next day they are the best thing you can eat. I am sure you can all think of at least 5 foods that have moved from one list to the other in your lifetime.

And do you think the popularity of cooking/food television has changed people's perception of what is good or bad to eat? I almost think this has changed our minds more than the medical profession.

Can you list some?
1. eggs
2. butter
3. bread
4. fruit
5. coconut oil

6. red meat

But I don't watch cooking shows. Most of my brainwashing comes from reading.

7. wine
8. chocolate
And there's always a chorus going "Oh, but I mean red wine!" or "Oh but I mean dark chocolate!"

dark chocolate works to reduce sweets for me because I don't like it. But it hasn't done anything for my still loving milk chocolate. I just choose not to have much at a time or often.

Speaking of dark chocolate, I think this story exemplifies just how unreliable the media (both print and broadcast) is when trying to decide how we should eat.

Just goes to show. If we base most of our eating on unprocessed foods similar to the ones eaten back when meal-eating was the norm, and forget all the small studies, or even most diet studies, we're probably going to be fine.

The only thing everyone seems to agree on is that veggies are good.
