If there were ever a study that supported No S, this would be it. Cutting Sugar Improves Children's Health in Just 10 Days

By replacing calories from added sugars with those from starch the participants, all Black or Hispanic obese children with one symptom of metabolic syndrome saw "...improvements in their blood pressure, cholesterol readings and other markers of health after just 10 days."
On average, the subjects’ LDL cholesterol, the kind implicated in heart disease, fell by 10 points. Their diastolic blood pressure fell five points. Their triglycerides, a type of fat that travels in the blood and contributes to heart disease, dropped 33 points. And their fasting blood sugar and insulin levels – indicators of their diabetes risk – likewise markedly improved.
Holy moly. If there was ever a call to return to sweets being a "sometimes" food, this is it.

It's also a call to get added sugars out of foods that aren't sweets, i.e. spaghetti sauce, yogurt, salad dressing, and peanut butter.

Yes, parents have a responsibility here but so do food corporations.

So does our food system.
