late dinner out
breakfast is super early, so lunch is 11ish--going out for a late dinner with friends tonight. Don't think I can make it 7-8 hours with no food. Stick to liquid between lunch and dinner to stay with the spirit of NoS or go for a planned midafternoon snack (protein bar most likely). What do you all do in such a sitch?

Hm, try a couple things: First try moving your lunch just a little bit later. If you eat at 11:00, try moving it closer to 12:00. Also, try filling up your plate a little bit more at lunch to get you through the afternoon. Then, if you're hungry mid afternoon, grab a latte or another heartier drink. Then by the time dinner rolls around, for one you won't be miserable, and you also might be (optionally) inclined to eat a slightly smaller dinner. I know when I eat a large lunch my dinners naturally tend to be lighter, (e.g., a burger and fries at lunch usually means something like tofu and roasted veggies at dinner).
Saw this too late most likely to influence things, but I would also have suggested to try to get involved in something a little more compelling than usual leading up to dinner, if possible.
I'd also suggest real food rather than a protein bar, if you feel you must eat.
