Hi!

Second week...does it get easier to space the meals? I feel like I can wait longer than I used to between meals.

For me, yes, mostly, it's easier. Some days not, but I don't judge the lifestyle by them.

I think so too--the body adjusts to not permasnacking! And I enjoy actually being hungry for meals :-)

I also think it gets easier. I used to get panicky if I got hungry because I'd be like, well I'm only going to get hungrier and hungrier and I can't DO anything when I'm hungry and I get cranky. It was a little difficult the first couple weeks and sometimes I would be really hungry before meals. But it's definitely gotten easier. Last week I was feeling less hungry--still hungry, but not as acute or as urgent. Today I went six and a half hours between meals without getting hungry. (I had meant to go five but I ruined part of the food I was cooking, and had to start part of it over, oops!) It was awesome :D

It starts out difficult, but I feel so much better not eating all the time that it's worth it.

It definitely gets much easier over time, and somehow life expands to fill up the time :)

:D That's a good point. I am also telling all my friends about this...I hate to call it diet...They keep saying, so are you cutting out carbs??? NO! Are you cutting out sugar...Not Really...I can't believe that I haven't heard about this before.

Jen, you didn't ask, but I gently suggest you not talk about it a lot. Let your serenity and enjoyment of meals do the talking. People can pick away and even try to undermine your efforts, though usually subtly. Or cast aspersions if you hit some rough patches. I have colleagues who have seen me lose and maintain for years, but insist they couldn't do the same. They need to count calories or use shakes or whatever. One of them will maintain because she's lost before and really really doesn't want to do it again. But she's convinced she could never learn to moderate herself without counting, even though her meals are pretty routine.

And not everyone will hear about it because even it takes commitment AND there's no real money to be made from saying to eat meals and don't be an idiot on weekends. No drama!

I think you're right. The two people that I excitedly told rolled their eyes and said...no snacks??? You'll never be able to maintain, so....you're right.
