This physicist's personal weight-loss strategy was very Reinhard-esque:

Also like Reinhard, he cuts through the BS and allows one to dispense with all sorts of nonsensical and unnecessary ideas, fears, programs, books, money outlays, etc...

That was a nice article.. The cow joke made *me* laugh!
It's all very true as well, and especially the focus on diet as the weight loss component (vs exercise)
That's been my personal experience.. We all know that tone, flexibility and strength are, obviously, equally important, but they don't contribute to pounds lost.
One particular thing I liked, that kinda reminded me of James "Jedi Mind Trick" Heh, was the mantra he created for his own healthy hunger as being the feeling of fat vaporizing... That, I felt was a pretty nifty positive tool for success..

But he ain't no Reinhard! :wink:

I liked the Zen thought process of fat vaporizing. I suppose only a physicist would imagine fat turning into vapour! But I liked it. I know when I'm feeling hunger, and it is a new sensation since living the No S lifestyle, I have that sensation of lightness and floating when I walk. It's wonderful.

It's a good article and fairly popular, apparently.

However, the whole thing is a bit reductionistic, in my opinion. If your goal is simply weight loss, why not go for the maximum pain and the maximum gain and simply stop eating until you are at your goal weight?

I would rather do a bit of exercise along with the calorie reduction. I don't want to just lose weight I want to lose fat. Just dieting alone has been proven to induce just as much or more muscle loss as fat loss. No thanks!

I think many people on this board can agree that a simple reduction of calories will not "work" in the real world, long term. For me, manipulation of metabolism via several vectors is the key.
