"There and Back Again..."
"... a Grumpy Holiday."
Hello!
I've had a somewhat tumultuous, on-again-off-again relationship with No-S, Shovelglove, and Rangering over the past several years. During the "on again" phases, good results have been consistent and reliable. However, derailments resulting from impatience, a lack of self-discipline, training and non-training related injuries, and a lifelong proclivity for self-sabotage when success is almost achieved have prevented me from establishing any of these as true habits. During these "off again" phases, I have experimented with a multitude of other diet and exercise modalities, and have achieved good-if-short-lived success with many of them, only to find myself, ultimately, back where I started (with interest).
So. Here I am. There and back again, and determined to establish these healthy, simple habits, once and for all.

"I don't want my pain erased. As wretched as it is, I need my pain. It makes me who I am. It makes me... Grumpy."
I have similar issues . Welcome back , best wishes!
I see my daughter going down a similar path I have, and so I hope just by seeing her every day, it keeps me on course, because she copies me.

I think most of us have been there! I finally came to the point where I realized that yo-yo dieting wasn't working, and only sustainable, changed habits would really "work." Losing alone isn't enough--it has to be maintainable, or like you said, you just end up back where you started. Wishing you the best as you set out to create healthy habits!
