If you are not hungry at meal times, do you wait or eat?

If I eat a filling breakfast, I find I may not want lunch, or if I eat both lunch and breakfast and lunch I don't want dinner. This probably won't be a problem since I am not snacking. Do YOU eat a meal even if you are not hungry, or do you wait until you are hungry. What if I am eat a snack like food for a meal like a piece of bread with cheese or a bag of nuts. Any body ever do this, is it acceptable on No S?

I would advise eating when it is time to eat, whether or not you are hungry. That way you'll train your hunger to come at the right time. Regular habits are what's important, not saving a few calories on one skipped meal.

When your mealing habits are all over the place, hunger is a totally unreliable guide. You've got to train it, like one of Pavlov's dogs. Hunger will learn. Just be clear and firm with it.

"Eat when you're hungry" sounds so natural, but it's only very recently that people had the luxury to even contemplate such a thing -- food was much to scarce and labor intensive to prepare.

You can eat "snack food" for a meal if you want on No-s. Snacks, for No-S purposes, are "when" not "what."

That being said, once you get into the habit of eating regular meals, you'll probably find meal style food more appealing (which is good, since snack food tends to be awful).

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I have found that I usually get hungry in between meals anyway if I do not snack. The only exeption is if breakfast is at 8 and lunch is at 1145. (I'm on a Coast Guard ship, meals are served at a set time). I think I can also eat a smaller breakfast (coffee and a piece of toast maybe, or something similar) to make sure I am hungry at lunch.
