For a long overdue vacation.

So don't be alarmed/offended if I don't respond to your posts during that time.

My good friend Jody has volunteered (well, been conscripted) to keep an eye on the sites, but that's not going to extend much beyond pulling the plug if someone starts posting terrorist kiddy porn.

Happy no-s-ing/shugging/rangering/ludditing while I'm gone,

Reinhard

OK, I'm back!

It's probably going to take me a few days to catch up on all the posts and emails, but don't worry, I'll get around to it. I did a first pass to eliminate spam and was relieved to find much less than I'd feared.

As for my personal everyday systems compliance on vacation, my wife insisted that I leave the sledgehammer home, so shovelglove was out. I briefly entertained the idea of doing 14 minutes of bodyweight exercise each day instead (as I've done on past vacations), but decided it was more important to catch up on sleep every spare minute -- without a job or computer or phone to distract us, it was just possible to get 8 hours of sleep each day, working in shifts to entertain the kids. And I think giving the shovelglove muscles a solid week off once a year might even be a good thing, physiologically and psychologically.

As for No-s, I took three extra non-weekend S-days ("NWS" days), and two N-days. I didn't grotesquely overeat, and we were pretty active, so it didn't surprise me that when I stepped on the scale after coming back I didn't seem to have gained any significant weight. We rented a cabin with a kitchen and could cook for ourselves, which probably helped -- saving us not just dollars but calories (and grief -- eating out with 2 kids is just not fun).

Welcome back! Glad you had fun, and that you did fine with No S as well :)
It sounds like you had a good break, so don't undo the work by overdoing it in the next few days by racing to catch up on the posts!
