Time to officially recommit...

My copy of the book came today, and I am already most of the way through it, so this post is to officially recommit to the No-S plan.

Officially, I've been doing No-S for a solid 3 months (after a bunch of false starts). I took the last week 'off' due to being home from college and to give myself a little freedom. I had a decent amount of control, though, and am only up 2-3lbs, some of which is surely water weight due to...ehm...one of the joys of being female. I tried to get back on track today, and did pretty well, aside from a few sweets (damn Easter candy!)

Reading the book has made me realize that, although I've been following No-S for 3 months (and have lost roughly 10lbs), I've been abusing some of the guidelines, so it's time to clean those up as well. As of tomorrow, no more artificial sweetener, meals that are 'good for me' but way too small and unsatisfying (salad has less carbs...), sugary coffee drinks (but skim milk makes them better...wrong!), chocolate flavored coffee creamer, muffins for breakfast (they were berry, I swear!), protein bars, protein shakes, obsessive scale-stepping, and most importantly, NO MORE SECOND GUESSING NO-S! It works, and I know it (10lbs is evidence, even if I wasn't following it to the letter!).

So here begins my attempt to lose these last (13-ish) pounds, but more importantly, to re-establish the peaceful relationship with food that No-S has given me.

My amazon review is coming, Reinhard! I promise!

If any of you are struggling to get back on track after the holiday, or just need some support or have comments, feel free! I check the boards multiple times per day and love reading people's posts.

Best,
Jocelyn

Good girl, Jocelyn!!

I wish that I had found noS when I was 20. Now I've got 10 years on you, and in that 10 years I put on a good 88 pounds!!!
This was, trying other diets, giving up because they were too hard, you get the picture!

So, good job on recommiting. I recommited a week ago after a couple weeks of "poor me" emotional eating.. back to my allll daaaay loooong permasnacking.

I have to say, I feel MUCH better as far as my tummy is concerned.

Look forward to reading your posts!

Thanks for the replies, you two!

Tiffani - Yes, I'm only 20, and I've already spent 3 years of my life yo-yo dieting...and I'm not even overweight! Just vain, I guess. But nonetheless, I am greatful for No-S because it's a sane way to eat. I definitely know what you mean about the permasnacking...I had a day or two last week where that was starting to happen, but I was able to find something else to do before the day was TOTALLY shot. I realized I better get on track now, because the longer I wait, the harder it'll be to get back to my habits, and 2-3lbs of weight gain will turn into a whole lot more! Congrats on getting back on track! I hope this time next week I'm back where you are.
