Summer,

buying the book is a really good idea. I bought it two weeks ago - Monday March 24, 2008 ... I had never heard of this diet or this website.

I read the book throughout that afternoon and evening. I had started that day with two distinct meals ... they had sweets and seconds ... but once I got the book at 1:00 pm the rest of the day was an N day for me.

I have been "on the diet" since then developing my habits.

It has been great. I have been a binging sugar junkie since I was 4 1/2 ... although my weight has been in the normal range, i.e. healthy BMI for past 17 years ... it has been an inner nightmare ... swinging from very rigid food restriction to out of control binging ... my weight very easily going up and down 10 to 20 pounds over a few month period...

I have been fortunate as all that has been laid to rest since I picked up the book at Barnes and Noble two weeks ago. I have had two weekends and so far there has been no binging.

This has been a lifesaving experience and I have been inspired to blog about it... you can visit my blog at www.nosdiet.blogspot.com

So welcome!

All the ideas you need are on teh main noS page. Lots of info there that is also included in the book.

My tip to you is to make each meal count. nourish your body. Try to balance your meals as much as possible and for me, including a fruit with b'fast and veggies with lunch and dinner really help cut down on hunger, since I'm feeding my body quality food, not just quantity.

Try to get out and at least have a walk each day. Easier said than done, I know, with 2 toddlers, for me, it's not always easy to get them to cooperate and ride quietly in their stroller or on their bikes.

Seek support. Mark your calendar with yellow x's (S days) green X's (successful week/N days), and red X's (unsuccessful N days which you snacked or had a sweet, etc). I Only started this up last month and it's really neat seeing the green X's and it's motivation, since I don't want to see any red in that nice week of green LOL.

Create a personal check in page.

Seek a buddy, Jaxhil and I partnered up about 15 or so months ago and it has helped a TON to have someone going through this experience, changing habits for the better, together. I really look forward to talking with her once or twice a day, and also, I feel like during the day, I'd let her down if I had a snack or sweet.

Great luck to you on this new habit forming journey! :)
