Is it ok to take a technical poll here?

How many of you do NOT get email notices when there's a response to a thread you've posted in, even tho you clicked on YES in your profile? I never do, so I checked my emails, my junk box, asked our resident author for advice and even with his most gracious response, nothin has changed. I always have to search for them on here and often can't find them again either for lack of time or just too much of a headache to search thru every title. Any advice, or is anyone else out there suffering from this techy disease?

Should I have posted this elsewhere? If so, I'll pretend I can't find this thread again, so I won't have to read about getting my hand slapped...heheheh :P

Betty, did you click "yes" in your profile to get the emails though? I'm just wondering if others are having this problem even tho we did all the right stuff to make it happen... it's driving me nuts. Searching thru the list for the ones I'm looking for are making my ADD issues more stressful than ever...

i just found mine were all going to my junk mail so I had to change my settings.... Do you have a really high setting on your junk filter or security setting on your computer?

I know you said you already checked your junk folder, but just an idea....

Hope it works itself out.

I do get the emails but I wish there was a different way to track as I cannot check my emails at work. Maybe some way to put the threads you've posted on in a user folder or something would be great!

I get emails for each topic I respond to. Usually you will get an email after responding when there is a new answer but if you do not visit that topic no other emails will be sent to you until you respond once again to that particular topic

This has never worked reliably, as far as I can tell. I'm not sure it works reliably anywhere.

Why? The update messages look too much like spam. They tend to get intercepted by anti spam software.

I guess I could look into trying to reword these messages to get around the spam filters, but I doubt I'll have much success. I think you'll just have to obsessively check the board...

I didn't want to get all the e-mail messages, so I clicked "no." But if I want to keep track of threads where I have posted (or I just want to keep an eye on the conversation and not contribute), I do the old-fashioned thing and make a note on a piece of paper with the subject line...

great thinking..

That's a good idea Jill, I'll have to do that.
