"Enough is a feast."
Does anyone know who said that? I think it's a great motto for NO S, and definitely a motto I strive towards, with my tendency to binge...

Caroline Ingalls, Laura Ingalls Wilder's mother, is quoted a few times in the later "Little House" books as saying, "Enough is as good as a feast." I suspect the saying had common currency in the 1800s in the US.

I don't know

But it's an interesting quote.

Here are the earliest references I could find:

I'd say the quote from Malory is the original, at least insofar as phrasing is concerned.

In the last weight loss group I belonged to, the lady in the videos, said:
"ENOUGH IS THE SAME AS A FEAST"

I also like LESS IS MORE ...
got that out of 12 step literature ...
but I have always found it a good concept to meditate upon!

Enough is as good as a feast means that you should not have more of something than you need. "No, thanks! No more to drink for me, I've have enough. Enough is as good as a feast." It's really a pretty good note to keep in your head when you know you are eating more than you really want. I do it all the time. I just need to tell myself....ENOUGH!!!
