Another Sequela of No S: ASSERTIVENESS!!!

Went to our "employee appreciation day" today. It was my first test of No S, vegan values and nonaccumulation of needless inanimate objects, which, of course all organizations "give" to the employees as a "reward".
I refused my object and suggested to the Nice HR Lady that she give it to a more deserving individual, like a poor one.
Went past the food table. The pinto beans had definite bits of animal musculature in them. Couldn't trust the rice. Went straight to the guac and chips. The Nice Contract Food Service Lady said, "are you a vegetarian?"
"Vegan", I said.
"I'm so sorry, we make up the menu in advance, we just can't accommodate everyone."
"No big," I replied. "I'm thrilled to get to the stage where I can get guac and chips."
"Well, thank you for your positive attitude," she rejoined.
Went past the ice cream table. Not vegan, and not an S day!
I never could have done it before No S.
