HabitCalc: French test or English test?

Post by kbits » Tue Jun 03, 2008 5:07 am

Back in the day, English tests were scored by correct answers to questions. That is, you start with 0 and gain a maximum of 100%

Conversely, French tests worked in the other direction: start with 100% and then lose points for every wrong answer.

With that in mind, what's your preference for the habitcalc? Do you like to give yourself a green light in the morning then let paranoia get you through the day? ("Can’t let it turn red, can't let it turn red, ...?). Or do you wait till the end of the day to score yourself green/red?

I don't give myself a square until the evening, or the parameters of the activity is completed. I usually exercise in the morning, ferinstance.

I will give myself a green square for No S if I make it to dinner. That's motivation enough to carry me to bedtime.

It depends of which of my 3 Habitcals I'm marking. For my No Scale, if I don't step on the scale when I get up & after I go to the bathroom, then I can mark my square green, because I will not step on the scale after that time. If it is my No S Habitcal, then I wait until the end of the day...close to before I go to bed. If it is my MwP (exercise) Habitcal, then I mark the green square after I do it.....sometimes it is in the morning, sometimes it is not until the evening.
Creating and sustaining the No S habits are the only thing that will take me in the direction I want to go!

I mark it after dinner, then I know I'm done with food for the day.

for No S, sometime after I am done with my last meal and I am confident I have stopped eating for the day
for my PROJECT, when I complete my agreed upon goals for day
for a thing I do call Oxycise, when I am done :D

that being said, just use them all at the end of the day

After dinner for No S and plating by hunger level.
After my walk for that.
After shugging for shovelglove.

So, basically, I "score" myself after the fact. To give myself a score before and then have to prove it just wouldn't feel right to me. I think it would add more pressure.
