Where to find Mestemacher & OESP Oats online?

Greetings! I'm a new member to the board, but have been reading for a couple months. I started the No S Diet back in August, and it is the most common-sensical diet I've ever come across... thank you, Reinhard! I'm one of those people who needs a system in order to start something, and this diet has helped me eat the way I should be. I'd like to be able to say how many pounds I have, but I've never weighed myself regularly, and I'm determined to let my waistline do the talking, and I'm happy to see I've already seen results! (Nothing concrete... I'm not measuring; but my belt is becoming too loose!)

More recently I got a copy of the book at our local library through interlibrary loan, and am pleasantly surprised at all the stuff I've found in it that I hadn't seen at the website or on the forum (probably just not reading close enough).

In chapter 7, Reinhard talks about breakfast (and a search of the board found similar info); Reinhard refers to two products in particular that I'm interested in: Mestemacher whole grain black bread and Old Essex Scottish-Style Porridge Oats. I asked my grocer to see if they could get either (not on the shelves), but I'm also wondering if I can get either online somewhere. (I can find 12-packs of the oats at Amazon, but am wondering if they come in smaller quantities.)

Anyone have any links?

Thanks!

Chris

[ Edited with great embarrassment to get Reinhard's name right! Note to self: don't write on multiple forums simultaneously!]

My local stores: Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods
regularly carry the Old Essex Scottish-Style Porridge Oats.
In the past, I Googled the Mestemacher bread,
but never tried it, because the online site I found
also requires the purchase of multiple loaves.

Good luck, Keep us posted on your progress.

Amazon seems to just have 12 packs of both (big investment if you've never tried them, but the stuff does last forever, so maybe not a bad idea if you decide you like it).

This site sells single packs of mestemacher (along with a lot of other stuff dear to my teutonic stomach):

http://www.germandeli.com/084213006646.html

This site sells 3 packs:

http://www.foodlocker.com/brands-m-mestemacher-.html

But I've never ordered from either so I don't know how reliable they are.

You can by single packs of Old Wessex here:

Though again, I've never personally done so.

As for physical stores, I know Whole Foods has both. And I've definitely seen mestemacher all over the place in NY and NJ.

Thanks for the links, Reinhard... I'd found the German Deli website, but wasn't sure which particular brand of Mestemacher you recommend... is it the Natural Sunflower Seed Bread that you linked? The second link has a number of their products, so I wasn't sure if you were specifically recommending the sunflower seed bread.

I hadn't come across the link to the oats at all.

Again, thanks!

Mastemacher bread is so great toasted! I like the whole grain rye with cheese! I live in a small town but we must have a German section of our grocery that stocks it.... yum (on the other hand, hubby hates it.. more for me!)
