Yesterday around 11:30am I was feeling really hungry. I was tempted to snack. Then I corrected myself and had a couple of small apples.

Is this OK ? I mean fruits in between meals ?

To quote The Great No-S Guru, "A snack isn't a what, it's a when."

If you eat between meals, no matter what it is you're eating, it's snack. An apple on your lunch plate is lunch, and apple between meals is a snack.

That said, no, grabbing an apple is hardly the worst dietary choice in the world. The problem is, what's your goal? In my personal case, it's to get completely out of the habit of eating outside of meals except on S days. You might want to be doing things a little differently, but be clear about what it is you're trying to do.

I consider anything solid a snack.

With that said... I "eased into" the habits, and one of the strategies I used was "limited choice" snacks in the afternoon. (For me, the afternoon snack was the HARDEST to break.) I eventually weaned off it entirely, but it was too much to expect of myself at first.

I have also had lunch at 11:30 instead of 12:00. That's not an unreasonable lunchtime.

Do what you can, but don't lose sight of the long-term goals.

Best wishes!
