I found that while I was certainly hungrier when I was pregnant, it wasn't anything that was out of control. I ate bigger meals, don't remember what I did about snacking. My cravings? Watermelon and canteloupe. That was it. Of course, this was 30+ years ago and I had the cravings in December and January when there was no watermelon and canteloupe. By the time they were available, I had the babies!

It only takes 300 extra calories daily to make a baby. So, you follow the same good habits, eat well and give in occasionally to a craving. Remember, you're in charge.

I wouldn't worry about it health -wise, because this is healthier than most diets and you'll get plenty of food with 3 plates. I had 4 kids and the whole "eat for 2" thing is highly over rated. I thought I continued to eat the same and I gained 70 lb. 4 times!!!!!!! Besides, the cravings aren't always legitimate body-needs... I craved frosting and sugar babies!

Well you can possibly add a fourth healthy meal if you really feel extra hungry.. I would also advise making sure your diet is rich in Folic Acid, as that's really essential for healthy development of the fetus.

Just give this a try!
Look at it this way... I'm not sure how great your will power is now, but yes, it will be tested thru your pregnancy and you will want to have some weird things (like pickles and ice cream) but if you add some structure beforehand, even if you have a few failures here and there, they will be far less than with no structure.

Good luck!
