What a difference a plate makes

I've started eating lunch off a real plate. I used to just eat it from my the little plastic tubs I would use to carry my lunch. I swear I feel fuller. I know I eat slower (though still not slow). And I enjoy my food so much more even though it's the same thing I've always eaten.
There's more to the one plate rule than just portion control, I think.

Funny, I just bought a plate for work a couple weeks ago and I finally used it today! I almost made a post just like this.
Anyway, it was so nice. It definitely makes a difference. I notice that it was also neater - I didn't have to hover over a little space like when I eat straight out of a tuperware bin.
Plus, I got a great deal. It was only $1 at the grocery store. It's just a red Crayola plate, but still...

Hi Blithe and Nicole
Great idea.
We eat with our eyes first.
It's always nice to consider the presentation of your food.
Just another way of being good to yourself!

I broke my plate.
But I will go to the thrift store after work and buy another one!

Try
Corelle! They're unbreakable, very pretty, and you can often find them in open stock.

Hmmm. I seem to be able to break Corelle just fine.

I love thrift stores. They usually have some pretty interesting plates.

I bought two plates! The pattern is called "Fossil" which is appropriate as I work at a science center.
