Hi everyone! My name is Kathy and I've just started the No S Diet.
I've been thinking for the past several years, watching the dieting madness in our culture, that when I was a little girl in the 1960's no one was fat! I've noticed it watching old news footage and also looking at old family photographs. My Mom had a movie star figure her whole life, and never ate low-fat anything. Nor did she jog or go to the gym.
What we did was eat 3 balanced meals a day, 1 moderate-sized helping of the various elements of the meal, no seconds, no snacks and maybe just a bite of something sweet after supper. Almost the No S diet to a T!!
About a year ago I wanted to lose 20 lbs. I started doing the "Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full" thing and lost 10 pounds. It also cured me of second helpings. Then I started doing the walk 10,000 steps a day program and lost another 10 pounds.
So, I don't really need to lose any more weight, but I was looking for an easy way to maintain my loss and stumbled across the No S Diet.
The "Eat when you're hungry" thing is better than dieting, but not always convenient. And I always felt a little hungry. It drove me crazy. I like to be comfortably full and not have to think about food again for 5 or 6 hours. So I think the No S Diet will be a perfect fit for me.
I've been reading your stories and look forward to taking with you guys.
