In Memory of Peter

Previously, I mentioned that most people that I told about No S looked the other way. I had one friend that actually took interest in what I was doing. He had some weight to lose and was trying to get healthy. He was a shovelglover and had bought the No S book and was actually doing it. I couldn't believe someone besides my mom was doing No S! He was excited to tell me that he had been to the ice cream parlor with his girlfriend and baby and didn't get anything because it was an S day, and that he didn't want it anyway. He actually lost quite a bit of weight. When we were at his house last, he showed me his shovelglove!

Unfortunately, he passed away on Friday from a work accident. My husband went into their house over the weekend and Peter (my friend who passed) had put aside some brownies he had been saving for his S day. So, if anyone who reads this... please on your next S day have a brownie in his honor or just say some prayers for his family. He lived here in NJ with his significant other and 2 year old daughter, but his parents and siblings are in England.

I hope to continue to No S in his honor.

Oh, that is sad ... especially if it was so sudden and unexpected... :-(

I'm sure he is SHOVELGLOVIN' in Heaven right now ...

I won't have any brownies but I'll think about this next time I SHOVELGLOVE instead.

How tragic! I am so sorry to hear of your loss oliviamanda. A brownie for Peter on Saturday! A reminder to me to make every day count - and to count my blessings at the end of each day.

My condolences on the loss of your friend.

One might say that he should have just ate whatever he wanted as life is short but I think the fact that he was in such a happy state because he was taking care of himself should make you feel good.

My prayers for all who loved him,

SR

Thank you so much, everyone. I am so bummed. I have to go to the funeral tomorrow. He was only 39 years old. I cannot tell you how happy he was to be on No S, and also that gave us something in common. It is encouraging how well he was doing. When they got back from England on a recent trip, he had brought me back some Dairy Milk chocolates. The candy was very small, and I broke my N day by opening up the packet (I was going to share)...and when I offered it to him, he declined and said it wasn't an S day ! I will greatly miss Peter.

Thank you all on the bullentin board for all of your support. I am comforted by this online community.

My condolences, Oliviamanda, the death of a loved one is always sad, moreso when it is so unexpected.
I can't have any chocolate for the moment, but, I'm making brownies anyway and inviting my husband to have them in Peter's honor.
And I'm praying for his loved ones.
