Several conversations on this board have gotten me to thinking about reasons for doing No S other than weight loss. I know a lot of this is in the book, but it's good to unpack those reasons, shake them out and take a look to see how they fit us.
So these are mine:
- It's a sensible and sane way to relate to food, leaving me the emotional energy to do other things.
- It requires me to be an adult, trusting me with the specifics to make good choices. I appreciate the hat tip of respect.
- I enjoy food a lot more!
- It seems to attract an especially high class of adherent.

Here's mine:
1. Allows me to enjoy eating without obsessing!
2. A sustainable, moderate lifestyle without deprivation
3. Fun on weekends
