Hi guys,
The day has FINALLY arrived.
My website DietHobby.com has finally become operational.
www.diethobby.com
I'll still be here in the No S General Discussions,
but will be devoting less time to my personal check-in thread,
so I can use it to blog at DietHobby.
I've already posted an Amazon link to Reinhard's book
as well as a link to this forum, and
I'll be doing some pictures, and some recipes and some videos,
and I have tons of plans for the future.
I also hope you will join me in encouraging new people on my site
to try S. I hope every one of you will drop by to check it out,
and that some of you will choose to visit there often.
Some of you, who I consider my No S friends, have already received
personal messages from me about this. But PM or not,
everyone from No S is welcome.

Congratulations! Although I haven't been active on this site, I've read it for years, and I always enjoy your posts and learn a lot from them. Thank you!

I made a long post in my personal check-in Thread
about some basic start-up issues I'm dealing with at www.DietHobby.com ,
and I would greatly appreciate having my friends read it,
and then see what they can do to follow up to help me test it.
Happy Valentine's Day.
I cannot even begin to express the fondness
and gratitude I feel for each one of you.

Hi BrightAngel,
Congratulations! And welcome to my world of technical glitches, spambots, and dousing flamewars.
(just kidding about that last one -- there hasn't been so much a tussle here in a good long while now)
I signed up just now but haven't had too much time to explore yet. So far so good -- I love your commanding presence on the header -- and everything seems to work.
More soon...
Reinhard
Opposing Comments are Welcome at DietHobby

I am so excited and pleased to see
that some of my No S online friends have already registered
and commented at www.diethobby.com
I hope none of you are offended by my frequent links,
but I so very much want a lot of my No S friends to register
and comment there, and I'm trying to make that easy.
Most of you know that I've been an active forum member here for years,
and although I don't do "vanilla" No S, I'm one of its strong supporters.
No S is one of the diets I plan to say a great deal about at DietHobby,
and I believe that the more No S people who comment there,
giving their own personal position about No S,
the more attractive a prospect it will be
to people who have never checked into that option.
Even people who totally differ with me about many things,
could make comments that will be helpful to direct others to No S,
because there could easily be future lurking readers who disagree with me,
but who agree with them.
One thing about DietHobby is that (once the technical process is totally completed)
there will be a search feature, and linked categories, which will easily direct people
to my No S Blogs for all the time it's up..and I expect that to be many years.
And of course, those specific blogs will help direct others here to No S.
I plan to write my first special No S article there in a couple of weeks.
I'm waiting for awhile, because I'm hoping to first discover and fix any
registration and comment "glitches", ...with you guys helping me do that.
Also I want to give No S people more time to register before I do it.
Meanwhile I'm writing about things about dieting in general that interest me.
I’ll be addressing the “real food†issue as well as many other food/diet concepts.
…Note to wones: I would love to see comments from you about real food etc, issues then...
I really hope to get a variety of comments from people with many points of view.
If you disagree or have a different slant those comments are welcome
If you agree with me, I like seeing that too.
Most Strangers who go to a site, tend to follow the precedents set by others.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to get my blog operational
for registration and comments
before all of the rest of that technical search process was finished.
My primary push is to get my No S online friends there first,
to form a foundation of intelligent and interesting people
which will help point the site in the direction that I'm hoping it will go.
I think this could do a lot to set a courteous and tolerant tone at DietHobby.
Since DietHobby involves an entire website,
and not just a blog in some standard online blogging site,
I think this could really be a helpful tool for many people,
along with giving me much recreational enjoyment in my retirement,
while serving to help me maintain my own weight-loss.
I hope you join me there.

I've dropped by a couple of times, but so far haven't felt that I had something that needed to be added to the discussion. I'm sure that will happen in time, though.

Thanks, Blithe Morning,
I hope to see you there frequently.
Miss Hartshorn is also welcome, although I suspect she might not approve
of the frivolous tone that may sometimes be present.

I plan to remain an active member on this forum,
and for the sake of open disclosure,
I want make certain that you guys to know
that the things that many of you have posted here
during the past 3 years have influenced me,
and even tended to change me, in positive ways.
This means that many of my posts at DietHobby
will reflect your thoughts as well as my own,
since...over time...the thoughts you have expressed
have blended with my own,
and have helped ...and continue to help...me form opinions.
I very much hope that as I post my thoughts
and opinions at DietHobby,
and you have additional thoughts or opposing thoughts,
that you will post those thoughts in the comment section.
I strongly believe that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution
to the food/weight/health issue, and your specific comment....
which will be visible to the wide audience expected at DietHobby...may
be exactly what some of the potential lurking readers need to hear.

I finally found something worth posting on DietHobby today. Under the "Meat or Plants" chapter of the Taubes "Why we get fat" review. "Meat is a long-standing part of our diet and should be good", says Taubes, "Don't eat too much red meat or processed meat, it will give you bowel cancer" says UK government advice (
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healt ... -warn.html)
I guess those healthy people Weston Price saw subsisting on meat, milk and blood from their cattle, along with animal products from the Nile weren't eating any processed meat - but something is discordant - was their meat raw, perhaps? It was certainly red. In the UK the high meat eating group, especially high preserved/processed meat eating tends to be single men - also known for smoking, drinking alcohol to excess, eating few vegetables or fruit and it is difficult to isolate meat-eating as a single factor.
As I've got more interested in low-carbing I've found I'm eating more meat and some of it is certainly preserved meat - sausages or bacon are just so filling and convenient for breakfast. Eggs are great, but don't hit the same spot and aren't always what I want. Back to the drawing board....

Graham,
Thanks for posting, I saw it there.
Setting up my Blogg and writing those Blogs is taking
a lot of time right now, so for awhile, this Personal Thread
will probably just have short posts. If you are interested
in my detailed current thoughts, you can see them at
www.diethobby.com
Did any of you guys notice that
I posted some of Reinhard's Shovelglove
Videos in DietHobby?
