School food/real food

I think we as a people are still sorting out nutritionism and good eating. According to this article, the food program in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) does not add salt to its from-scratch offerings. Nasty, indeed.

In fact, they forbid it.... but they allow processed food, which is LOADED with salt.

Go figure.

It does take time for tastebuds to adjust. And drastic change is much harder to make than gradual change.

But the tastebuds do adjust. I've noticed on No-S that less sugar during the week has resulted in my noticing natural sweetness more.

I applaud the schools for trying to make food healthier, but I am sorry that they don't have a better roll-out plan.

Ugh, terrible.

My daughter's daycare has meals everyday for the kids.. And a monthly Wendy's Day. I already plan on her not participating in both of these.
